Stress comes in many shapes and sizes. Maybe you have too much on your plate at work or are juggling a boyfriend, a career and friends. There's too much on your plate and the stress is becoming more and more difficult to manage.

If you're a mom, up the stress factor a notch. You need a break from the stress that comes with the responsibilities of good parenting. You love your children to death, but homework including trips to and from afterschool activities can be overwhelming at times.

Everyone gets stressed out here and there. Each zodiac sign has a different way to relieve that stress and calm themselves down. According to astrology, your personality is specific to your sign, and getting rid of stress can be easier if you know exactly what to do in order to calm down.

It’s difficult to focus when you’re stressed. The simplest task becomes a never-ending job and can pile on more stress to your already-growing heap of anxiety. Stress can also keep you up well into the night, making it difficult to concentrate on little things, even fun ones like reading your horoscope. These things all add up to taking your beloved beauty deep from you. 

No one wants to lose sleep. I LOVE to sleep! Every chance I get I’m taking a nap and snoozing away my problems.

Not to mention stress can make you irritable and rude and after a while, no one will want to be around you! You may not even want to be around yourself, but alas, you can’t avoid yourself.  Your best bet is to find the most useful way to get rid of that looming stress once and for all

Some people are more prone to stress than others, and some are able to handle stress with more ease. Whatever the case, you can be sure that tossing that stress out the window is something every sign wants! 


Aries (March 21 - April 19): Go for a run.

All right, Aries. You’re best off running your stress away. It doesn't have to be a marathon every time you get stressed out at work but run a quick mile or two. You’ll leave that stress behind at the mile marker. You’re at your peak when there are some challenges, and taking on a new one is the way to get back on your feet. Running will take your mind off of whatever it is that is frazzling you as you focus on breathing and persevering instead. Bonus: you’ll stay in shape thanks to stress! (HA!)

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Go shopping.

Yes, you. Pick up that wallet and head to the mall, Taurus. You love love love to buy new things, so what better way to get rid of stress than to shop ‘til you drop? Well, don’t literally do that. Just shop for a few hours or so and watch that stress disappear as you swipe your card. And if that doesn't help, throw all of your shopping bags on your bed and take a good look. Seeing all of your new stuff is sure to do the trick! Just make sure you don’t buy TOO much — debt is a huge stressor!

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Get together with friends.

Nothing will take that stress away and calm you down like social interactions. Geminis are born social butterflies and feel happiest when surrounded by their favorite people. Grab a cup of coffee with the girls or meet up for ice cream. Do whatever it is you do with your besties and let go of that stress with every sip of Joe. Your friends are there to keep you sane, Geminis. You’ll feel calm and content in no time and you’ll catch up on much-needed gossip at the same time!

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Get a massage.

This could relax anyone, but massages especially help a Cancer knead out the stress in her life. Complete relaxation is necessary for a Cancer to calm down when stressed, and massages allow you to loosen up and focus solely on relaxing. Your brain is always on so in order to turn it off you must be in a totally tranquil environment. 

The soothing music and loosened muscles will put you in such a state where all of your troubles disappear. After a massage, your mind will feel clear and you can focus on what needs to be done!

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Pamper yourself.

Leos are in their prime when they look and feel good, so naturally getting a manicure or coloring your hair done will help tackle that lingering stress. No need to spend mega bucks, though! If you’re low on cash or just get stressed fairly often (consider cutting out some stressors?!) you can do your nails at home, or make a DIY facemask and throw some cucumbers over those baggy eyes. 

Even a bubble bath will help you out, Leos! Anything to make you feel like the queen you are again.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Do yoga.

Virgos tend to have a methodical approach to life. They are all over healthy alternatives and lifestyles. Yoga is a proven practice to calm the nerves and de-stress and has many health benefits, too. There is a specific method to yoga, and science shows how each pose and stretch can lessen stress, increase blood flow, etc. 

You’re bound to want to do yoga on the reg. once you try it if you’re a Virgo! Yoga will stretch out your stress and help you relax during hard times, so join a gym and get to it, Virgos!

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Go Out for the night.

The number one way for a Libra to calm down when life is beginning to be too much is to go out with friends for the night. Have that cocktail you’ve been dying to try, get on the dance floor and take lots of pictures with the girls! You crave social atmospheres, but sometimes it’s hard to have time to get out of the house and let loose. Well, I’m here to say “Just Do It!” to the stressed Libras out there. Forget the stress and focus on having a good night out on the town.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Have sex.

Scorpios are very sexual, and the best way to de-stress is to go at it like rabbits. You need that physical touch only sex can provide to pound that stress right out of your system (sorry, I had to). Try something new, like a different position or grab that toy you bought a few months ago but haven’t tried out yet. All is fair game to a Scorpio, really. I’m sure your partner won’t mind, and it will benefit both of you!

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): Go for a walk in the woods or park.

You need some nature in your life to calm down. The fresh air and birds chirping will snap you out of the stressful funk you’re in and get you back in your prime in no time.

Being in an office all day is stressful enough for an adventurous Sagittarius. The outdoors is the perfect escape from reality for you and 15 minutes at the park will do you good. It will also give you a break from people so you can turn your brain off. You may love what you do, but sometimes you just need a break to avoid losing your mind.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Call a relative.
