What Is A Lunar Node? + How The North Node-Uranus Sextile Will Affect Your Love Horoscope & Relationships, According To Astrology
Love, Zodiac

Our heart always points the way for our purpose.

Usually it’s what we try to avoid that ends up being the gateway to what we need. And that's the lesson the Uranus North Node sextile, occurring on March 19th, will usher into our lives, beginning a whole new chapter for our zodiac signs.

In astrology, Uranus is the planet of sudden change, while the North Node (or True Node) represents our karmic direction in this life, pointing the way to our destiny or fate. We all have a Saturnian lesson to learn, so for an idea of what yours may be, look up in which sign Saturn is in your natal chart.

Once we have learned or mastered this Saturnian lesson, our North Node opens the doorway into our fate.

Perhaps we have to learn boundaries, but then once we do, the North Node opens that doorway into fulfilling us, especially with our relationships and love horoscopes.

At the time of this transit, the North Node will be in Cancer, which means that this sign, along with fellow water signs and those whose own Node is in Cancer, will be most affected. But there is also a greater meaning here for all of us.

With the North Node in Cancer, it means there is an aspect at play involving our fate. But that is also tied to the feminine, to a woman of importance in our own life. With Uranus on the scene, it also means there will likely be a change of circumstance for this mother or feminine figure that may either be yourself or a woman in your life.

Uranus is currently in Taurus, so while this planet tends to bring change to the areas of our life when we least suspect it, in Taurus any changes that occur are more grounded and practical. This is about rearranging our lives so they can have deeper roots and grow stronger. It’s just that sometimes, in order to do so, we have to change up what we thought was the status quo or the path we were meant to travel.

The nodes of the moon are important tools in gaining a deeper understanding of how the aspects of the moon affect our lives, and why it’s been a figure of importance in various cultures for centuries.

While the moon itself represents our emotional world or that self we often hide from others, the nodes of the moon dictate our past and future life paths.

The South Node is what we came into this life with, whether it was previous karmic lessons or debts. This is representative of what we began with. But the

North Node represents our destiny — the life path that is our birth right, the one we were born into, but that we have to earn through overcoming lessons like that of Saturn.

In astrology, a sextile is when two planets are within 60 degrees of one another, creating a positive and beneficial energy that will end up affecting our life direction. This particular sextile occurs once a year or so, and will be the last Uranus transit until June, when this planet once against forms a semi-sextile to asteroid Chiron.

Uranus is firmly in Taurus now, and with his aspects this year occurring between Chiron and the North Node, that means we’re going to see a big change in our life direction that will occur around the time of the retrograde, from August 2020 to January 2021.

But in order to see the results of the sextiles with Chiron and the North Node, we have to take the lessons they’re representing, which is quite literally this: to fulfill our destiny, we need to take time to heal. Healing isn’t always fun work, and it’s also a phase we wish we could rush through because we want what’s on the other side of that. But to slow down and look at what this sextile is trying to show us will help in the coming year, all the way to January 2021.

Uranus wants us to have the best life possible, which means he has to destroy many of the plans we thought we wanted and needed. We have to experience shake-ups so we can find where our heart lays, and who we authentically are.

But a big part of life isn’t even making ourselves into something, but in undoing what we thought we had to, and learning how to incorporate what we came into this life with (South Node), where we are meant to go, and what we’re meant to experience (North Node).

As we see this sextile occur, we have to understand that it’s not just about asking us to look for a purpose, but to heal enough that when someone asks us, “What does your heart want?” you’ll be able to answer them. The heart is the vessel by which we’re guided in this life, and depending upon our wounding and experiences, we will either not trust enough to follow it, or we’ll shut it down completely.

There are changes on the horizon, but they aren’t going to be instantaneously; instead, this is just the start of something.

This is the start of a new chapter in our lives, one in which we regard healing as the ultimate success, and we don’t fear the truth of our hearts. Rather, we submerge ourselves within it, but until we are no longer operating from our woundedness, we won’t be able to see how our true purpose is tied to it.

Pay close attention to your thoughts and feelings around March 19th, especially where you feel called or pulled to something. Instead of looking at things logically and rationally, try suspecting this operating system, and completely trust every thought and feeling you have.

While we have to work over and process our Saturnian lesson in order to have our destiny revealed, we also have to be willing to accept and live our truth. That is the only way to actually live our purpose.
