getty Cheating implies one thing in a relationship: the rule was monogamy and that rule was broken. You can't cheat unless you've agreed to not cheat.
Most relationships are monogamous, and most of us are taught from birth that this is the way we do things. We're shown ideals and we're expected to live up to them. In the case of monogamy, we're expected to love one partner our entire lives, and should we feel sexual attraction to another, we are on our way to cheating.
But how do the zodiac signs react to their partner cheating? Given that astrology corresponds with specific personality traits, while one person may bury their emotions, another may take justice into their own hands.
Cheating has a ripple effect; with this one act, we can ruin our marriage, our love affair, and destroy our families. A cheating partner can bring up all the insecurities we have, and when we are the cheaters, we create chaos in the mind of our partner.
Cheating destroys trust, kills unity and union, and makes us feel guilt. And yet, we cheat night and day because having sex with people we are attracted to is natural. Still, we've put this pressure on ourselves to remain vigilant as solo lovers, and perhaps that's why so many people choose polyamory. If you believe in monogamy, then cheating hurts.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Cheat on an Aries and they will despise you for all of eternity. And they will cheat on you back so fast you won't know what hit you. Was it worth cheating on that Aries? No, it will never be worth it.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus has an amazing defense mechanism when it comes to being cheated on. They go freezing cold. You won't hear from them, they'll leave you mid-sentence, the trust will dissolve into nothingness, and they will go on.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Nobody likes being cheated on, and when it's Gemini's turn to be the fool, they shut down and go silent. In a way, they expect it.
Gemini doesn't trust love, and they don't trust life in general, so even if they pour their heart and soul into a person, if that person cheats on them, they already knew it was coming.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
They hurt, and then they leave. Cancer doesn't stick around for betrayal and they certainly want nothing to do with a lover who cheats. Cheat on a Cancer and they will write you out of their lives as if you've never existed.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo can't imagine that anyone would ever want to cheat on them, so any extra-marital dalliances come as a complete shock. Strong Leo wants peace and happiness in the house, and if their illusion is breeched, they sink into deep depressive states.
They only wanted to be your number one, and you ruined that!
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Cheating brings out the worst in Virgo, as they have a terrible time dealing with any kind of personal hurt. They are quick to go into a tirade about how all people stink, and the bitterness kicks in big time, as well.
Virgo becomes insulting, distressed and hopeless when they are cheated on.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra cheats regularly, so when they are cheated on, they simply expect it. They are not monogamous by nature, so the rules of monogamy rarely affect them.
If you cheat on a Libra, they'll take you back. They just don't really care about cheating and expect the same of you.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
If you cheat on a Scorpio, you'll pay. Scorpio is not into being the fool, and if you so choose to make a Scorpio into one, you'll pay — and I do mean financially.
They will find a way to take you down where it hurts. They are ruthless and vengeful, and should you cheat on them, prepare to lose all you love in return.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Monogamous to a fault, Sagittarius will crumble and fall apart if cheated on. Everything about Sagittarius is trust; it's their entire calling card.
They trust you with their lives and they expect you'll do good by them. If you don't, they will hurt like nothing else, and they will ghost the living crap out of you because after the tears comes the war.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
When Capricorn experiences infidelity, they become withdrawn and cold. They are embarrassed to be the person who was done wrong, and they'd rather keep it all to themselves, to process alone.
They are not vengeful, but they will say nasty things about you afterwards.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius doesn't care about cheating and they do it as often as they please. They might throw a mini-tantrum if you cheat, but they'll get over it soon enough.
Truth is, they aren't all that dedicated to one lover, so whomever they're cheating with, they don't really care for them either. They are ultimately a friend with benefits.
PISCES (February 19 - March 10)
Cheat on a Pisces and you will know that you probably never should have gotten involved with that Pisces to begin with. They will not tolerate cheating and will go to the ends of the earth to make your life a living hell because of what you did.
They may be weepy, but they will not tolerate a cheater.
