The Most Foolish Thing Each Zodiac Sign Does When They Feel Rejected

getty When our feelings have been wounded and we’re upset, it's often the time when we act without thinking. We can behave erratically and do things completely out of character when we feel hurt.
Sometimes, the pain feels extreme and the only way we can relieve it is to do something foolish as a way to help numb the pain. That's just one way of learning how to deal with rejection. But astrology has a huge influence over the way we act and react. And sometimes, foolish zodiac signs do foolish things in the face of rejection.
You might call in sick to work and just binge-watch season after season of Law & Order, or maybe you indulge in guilty pleasures such as drinking too much or hooking up with a series of random people. There are times when we don’t want to be around those who know us best, so we seek out strangers to act as witnesses.
The way we react to rejection isn’t necessarily destructive, but anything done to excess may not be good for you. And when you avoid dealing with your feelings in a mature way, they don't disappear — they just get worse. If you’re just a huge ball of pain, you’re probably not thinking clearly and may find yourself doing something you’ll regret.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Nobody likes being rejected, but Aries really don't react well when they've been rejected. They're liable to do something impulsive and confrontational. If a partner broke up with them, it's not unlikely that Aries would confront them in the most public and humiliating (for both) way possible.
These individuals tend to be somewhat insensitive of other people's emotions, especially if they're coming from a place of hurt, and wouldn't hold back on the vitriol.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus takes rejection way too personally, even when it's not personal at all. Rejection hits them hard and they usually self-medicate themselves in their drug of choice. They might drink too much, indulge in unhealthy comfort foods, or whatever they think will take their mind off being rejected.
If Taurus is feeling too hurt, they can become completely unmotivated and lazy, staying at home and feeling sorry for themselves.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
For the most part, Geminis aren't that bothered by rejection and feel that whoever rejected them for whatever reason is an idiot — at least, that's the image they want to project.
However, it will be clear that Gemini feels the rejection more deeply than they let on by the way they're on edge, getting into verbal fights, and causing all kinds of drama.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
If their partner dumps them, and Cancer really thought they were their soulmate, Cancer will continue to text, message, and call them, hoping that all their ex needs is to be reminded of what an incredible person they are.
Cancers can be pessimistic, and once it seems as if their partner is never coming back, they will become overemotional and start to imagine all kind of other wrongs that were committed against them without any proof they happened.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Rejection can feel very unfamiliar to Leo, the zodiac sign who is used to getting what they want. If Leo can see the rejection as a teachable moment, they could learn a lot from the experience.
However, if they can't see the benefits of being rejected, they can get sulky and may act in a passive-aggressive way by refusing to admit they're hurt or by procrastinating on something so they still have a tie with their ex.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
When Virgo is rejected, they try to prove to the person who rejected them that they were wrong to do it. If their partner dumped them, Virgo will step up their social media presence making it look like they're not mourning the relationship, but having more fun than ever.
It's not their drive that's foolish, but how Virgo goes at it relentlessly and doesn't process their negative emotions.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
If Libra is rejected, they tend to make the pain even worse, like the person who can't stop themselves from touching a wound. Libra will go over old emails, letters, texts, and any gifts they got from their ex. They will remember the good times over the bad, and by the time they're done reexamining their relationship, they'll feel worse than ever and completely convinced they'll never have another relationship again.
If it's a job that Libra was rejected from, it was the most perfect job in the Universe for Libra, and they'll probably never get anything close to it.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio is another sign that is terrible at being rejected. It took so much for Scorpio to trust them in the first place, and now that they have been rejected and broken up with, all their fears have come to fruition.
The question is: will Scorpio internalize their feelings, or express them in revenge and payback? Probably the latter. Scorpio is definitely from the school of thought that says, "if I'm hurting then you should be hurting too." It's not out of the realm of possibilities that they won't key their ex's car or throw all their ex's belongings on the front lawn.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sometimes Sagittarius handles rejection well, especially if they weren't too invested. But other times, they don't. It's not that Sagittarius isn't mature, but if they're hurt enough they can act very immaturely and do or say something that seems like something a high schooler would do.
They may resort to name-calling, saying everything they had been holding back, or even doing something spiteful like subscribing their ex to everything under the sun, such as religious groups, funeral homes, and fetish dating sites.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns are the ones known for being hardworking and practical, so when they've been rejected, they just work harder. They work through lunch, forget to take breaks, and never even consider going on vacation. They work so hard that their co-workers and loved ones get concerned and try to show Capricorn that work isn't the only positive thing they have going on in their life.
However, the most foolish thing Capricorn does after being rejected is swearing they're finished with love, pursuing that avenue of employment, or trying to step outside their comfort zone.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
While Aquarius will try to appear as if they're fine and not really affected by being rejected, inside they'll be seething. The more intense their feelings get, the more they're going to badmouth the person who rejected them, and unfollow and block them on all social media.
Aquarius hopes the other person realizes that Aquarius gives doesn't care about their life, business, or future relationships. They are excellent at holding grudges, and their talent at it comes out when they've been rejected.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
When Pisces is rejected, they immediately can see why it happened. They weren't good, beautiful, smart, loving, or talented enough. Pisces takes rejection on as if it is a value judgment. They will have a very difficult time getting out of bed, imagining themselves happy again, and doing anything creative.
Pisces will feel as if they failed, not the relationship and or the person doing the hiring. Everyone will seem to them as happier and more successful than they are, and it may take Pisces a long time to get back on track.
