It’s time for less thinking and more doing.

December 31st and January 1st is our collective simultaneous beginning and ending across the entire globe. It doesn’t matter what religion we practice, what nationality we claim; everyone holds their breath for a moment as the clock ticks over to midnight and we get to say goodbye to another year in the books and welcome a brand new start. Yet depending upon what the planets and stars are doing that can help or hinder our own experiences.

In this case, the energy from December’s last big transit on the 28th, Venus sextiling Pluto will team up with January 1st's Mars moving into Aries, setting the tone not just for the next month but for our entire year.

Sometimes it seems that certain years are meant to be those where we do more thinking, more rationalizing than actually making physical strides towards the manifestation of the life we want. In some ways it seems that 2018 was a reflection, a lesson year in which none of us felt like we really obtained that true forward motion we were craving and instead spent the majority of time waiting.

Whether it was waiting for action, for someone else or for what seemed like the perfect time; we were hesitant overall, even if we had momentary burst of action. But this is where all that changes because 2019 starts off with a bang; and it’s exactly the push that we need to leave the past behind us once and for all.

In order to truly move ahead though we often need to make the conscious choice to do so as closure is often just a matter of perspective; the outside look for answers because the inside is struggling to believe the reality. But when we are being so fully supported by the universe to step forward like in this case it becomes easier to let go; to take a breath and to release what we had been letting hold us back.

On the 28th of December we see Venus in Scorpio sextiling Pluto in Capricorn signaling there are major changes afoot in terms of our romantic lives.

Usually the holidays are not the time when anyone wants to end a relationship; if we begin to have feelings of unhappiness rarely do we act upon them from Thanksgiving to New Year’s do we end things. So in many ways this sextile which is actually beneficial is really setting the stage for us to end or enter into a different relationship around the time of New Years.

There is also that undercurrent that maybe for some of us we won’t want to wait until January 1st to actually go to that person we haven’t been able to stop thinking of and profess our feelings and that this year we actually want to welcome in the New Year with the love we feel is already ours.

In this case the last couple days of 2018 could prove to be very interesting in terms of our romantic relationships; there may be sudden break ups or professions of love and interest. Most transits we begin to feel a day or so before they actually occur and so together on New Year’s Eve specifically we have the change in your relationship transit combining with the Mars in Aries let’s do it now energy which will make it very difficult for any of us to wait on something that we already know we want.

Mars is the planet of action and ambition and in this aspect he is at home in Aries which means not only is he at his strongest but also his most beneficial. Mars doesn’t want to wait for anything in this transit. He’s confident, sure of himself and literally won’t let anything stand in his way even difficulty or distance.

This very much is the transit of waking up and realizing that the person you ended things with a few years back still has your heart and so now that you know you’re not going to let anything stand in the way of actually going after them and letting them know your feelings.

Because the transit peaks on New Year’s Day this may mean that there are some upsets in plans we all have the night before. Who we think we’re going to be kissing at midnight may not end up being the person that we start our new year with after all. Mars in Aries is focused, and he knows what he wants but it’s also the sign for new beginnings which is perfect as we all start writing a new chapter in our lives.

As we near these dates we have to release how we thought life would go, we have to give up the storylines that we had played in our heads and had become attached to. We have to make the choice to truly go with the flow because the truth for many of us is that we are not in the relationships that truly benefit us and feed our growth.

It doesn’t mean we all need to go breaking up with our partners in the last few days of 2018 — but it does mean that we have to be real with ourselves.

Is our relationship truly benefiting us, are we feelings ourselves grow and become better because of this person in our lives or does it feel like something we’re clinging to out of desperation; because we’re afraid of what life would be like without them.

We all have the power to choose and create our own lives, we just have to make sure that we’re truly making those choices that align with our truth and not the truth that we wished was present. As 2018 draws to a close we’ll begin to see things more clearly, we’ll begin to understand that we were overthinking things, and that just maybe it really is as simple as it seems.

Once we reach that realization, there’s nothing that’s going to keep us from the arms of love-not even ourselves this time, because sometimes we just reach a point where we need less thinking and more doing in order to actually have the life and love we want.
