Nothing stays the same forever.

On May 7th, we will see Mercury square Pluto and Venus square Neptune, two different astrological transits that will change the landscape of our love lives. May has a very different theme in astrology than April, but big changes are still in the works.

This is just the beginning of what we’re going see continue throughout the next month. And for your zodiac sign, that means your love horoscope will also be greatly impacted. But will you like what the forecast has to say?

The first transit is Mercury square Pluto, with Aries in Mercury and Capricorn in Pluto. This will challenge us to not just make some big changes but also speak up about them. We’re not going to be able to hide under the covers or keep our life changes under wraps during this transit.

It’s all about making those changes known — not just to those involved, but also to the world.

As social media has taken off, it seems that many of us have become even more private, guarding what is most precious to us and keeping it out of the public eye. After all, a relationship is really only about two people, not everyone on Facebook or Instagram. However, that doesn’t mean that sometimes we don’t need to widen our circles a bit and expand our relationship into the world around us.

Mercury is the planet of communication, which turned direct recently after being in retrograde. During that time we usually find it difficult to convey even our most sincere emotions, so at the time of this transit the planet that governs how well we are able to communicate is helping us say what needs to be said.

On the other side of this transit is Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto is the lord of the underworld, the one who initiates drastic change and stirs up the murky waters. It is the planet of not just change, but drastic changes in our sense of direction or life path.

Whenever we have an aspect with Pluto we know that we are in for some surprises, and this time is no different. However, it isn’t the only transit that we will be encountering on this day. The second transit is a Venus square Neptune, with Gemini in Venus and Pisces in Neptune.

Venus is the planet of love, relationships and beauty, so when we see her cross the skies it means that something about our love lives is up for grabs to be changed. In Gemini, however, though she operates differently, we think of Venus in Gemini as a time of carousing, affairs or illicit activities; after all, it’s the sign of twins. But what it really entails is that we have flexibility in how we look at situations and romantic decisions.

During this time, we will be able to better see different sides of the situation, which will enable us to make better choices (Pluto) and then be able to communicate (Mercury) them to those that matter most.

However, we also have Neptune on the scene which could throw a bit of a wrench into the picture, especially with the aspect of beauty. Neptune is the planet of depth, spirituality and exploration of self, but in the more difficult realm, it also governs illusions.

Because both of these transits are squares, which, in astrology are when planets are within 90 degrees of one another, they will also prove to be more difficult alignments, meaning it’s not a time for play, but rather to work. With the planet of illusion, some of us might fall into the trap of comparing ourselves physically to others, and then feeling badly about ourselves in the process.

It’s not true feelings but rather what occurs when we let ourselves be fooled by believing that what we see is the truth. While this may come up for clearing, the more important role of Neptune in all of this is cutting through that aspect of illusion to get to the truth of the matter. Pluto feeds off of the truth; in fact, he often will destroy things at all costs in order to get there.

Together, we have these four planets crossing our sky, challenging us to speak up about our truth and initiating the changes in our lives so they match our dreams and goals.

Pluto often comes in unannounced and never asks for permission when it comes to doing what he wants. Venus is here trying to make the best of things, but she knows that things are changing too, and Mercury is here waiting in the wings for us to just seize the opportunity to speak on what matters most to us.

What this means for all of us is that we are going to see some drastic changes in our love lives, especially in terms of the direction or course we are on, but also in terms of what we share with others. It’s not as if we suddenly need to invite the world into our relationship, but it does seem with Mercury in the picture alongside Neptune that there’s going to be some changes in how open we are about our romantic life with others.

We could see relationships, engagements or the like being publicly announced around this time, as the need not only for change but also for clarity will come into play.

Overall, this is a very interesting transit that likely will have long-lasting effects that we will be able to feel for years to come. A lot of change has been occurring lately; we’ve been tested in ways we never thought possible, and we’re seeing our life manifest in ways we never even could have conceived of.

It’s natural to feel some resistance to change or to opening ourselves up to making a definite statement or choice; however, sometimes the thinking of it is more anxiety-inducing than the actual event itself. Because nothing stays the same forever, and the universe rarely cares if we feel ready.
