We can’t suppress what we feel, no matter how hard we try, especially when it comes to our relationships, love horoscopes, and growth. This is a reminder to us as we experience two different transits on March 23rd that will amplify energy and passion, encouraging us to pursue what is calling to us.

The first transit our zodiac signs will experience is Venus sextile Neptune, with Venus in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces. The second is Mars conjunct Pluto, with Mars in Capricorn and Pluto in Capricorn as well.

Both of these astrology transits carry different elements and principles, but they also mirror that inability to ignore our desires and intuition.

What’s also interesting is that while these are two separate transits, they both include Venus and Mars, which are known as the celestial lovers. Venus represents the divine feminine, while Mars the divine masculine, and while exact transits between these two are rare, they tend to dance around one another in this way.

Venus is the planet that rules love, and Neptune rules the dream world, spirituality and unconditional love. This leaves no doubt that this transit will have us feeling (or not!) the love.

In astrology, a sextile is when two planets are within 60 degrees of one another, creating a point of inspiration and harmony, and when we’re able to make a move on the karmic return of previous events or choices. This is a slightly irregular transit and can occur one or multiple times a year; however, because of the Venus retrograde we’ll experience later this year, this is the only transit we’ll experience like this until January 21st.

If something is meant to be, we get a second chance or even third. But on the other side of this energy, if we know that what we’re working towards or doing will require us to need specific energy like courage, independence and determination, it would make sense to make the most of these astrological transits that could help us.

This transit will occur again, but it doesn’t mean this moment will, so it’s important to reflect on the lessons of Venus and Neptune. It really comes down to one thing: increasing the desire to come into union with our spiritual lover.

At the time of this transit, both planets are also in their home signs, which mean they are exalted and also promote greater beneficial energy for us to work with.

Venus in Taurus is the ultimate aphrodisiac, and Neptune in Pisces is the romantic at heart. Together, these two planets are really trying to show us that what we desire isn’t impossible, we just have to believe it is. Usually, there’s no more difficult space to have this faith than the area of love, especially if we’ve been hurt before.

We don’t think of combining such things as spirituality and love, but together these two areas of our lives can be dramatically affected when they do.

Sometimes we call these unions soulmates or twin flames, but regardless of the title that we use, it doesn’t change the fact that there are those connections we enter into. These connections seem destined by the universe to occur, and somehow we end up positively affecting the space around us by loving one another.

Usually with these types of connections, we feel an intense and magnetic pull towards one another, one that's inexplainable. And what we end up having to learn is also unavoidable.

But there is something to be learned in the resistance of such a love. Something about how our inability to accept it ends up representing the blocks we have within ourselves involving our ego and the picture we had created of what our life (or love) should look like.

This is where the second transit becomes of importance: Mars conjunct Pluto.

In astrology, a conjunction is when two planets align within just a few degrees of one another, this time occurring in the earth sign of Capricorn. Mars is the divine masculine, which rules ambition, drive and passion, while Pluto is the lord of the underworld, the planet that helps bring to the surface whatever is hidden, including any secrets we’ve been trying to hold onto.

In Capricorn, both of these planets are operating from a more grounded and practical standpoint, which can be beneficial. Together, they will also make it impossible to ignore what we feel.

Sometimes it seems that as we get older and experience more, we come to distrust ourselves and our hearts. We dismiss intuition as wishful thinking, and we doubt not just that this love and passion we desire exists, but that it’s attainable, so we settle for what we can get.

We settle for easy, for shallow, for consistent, all the while that fire is still burning in our belly for what we are yearning for.

Of course, we have to have sensible control over our emotions and can’t be running away with every thought or fleeting fancy; we could end up losing what we want most, but we also have to practice a balance. A balance between controlling our emotions versus surprising them altogether, implanting the knowledge to be able to tell the difference between the two.

More than likely, we’re trying to focus on what we think we should, without realizing that while we can prolong when we do, we can’t stop ourselves from following our desire for connection, love and intimacy, especially if it’s a part of our soul path.

Together, these two planets are going to exponentially increase any desires we have yet to act on, but the most important part of this is understanding that it’s for a purpose.

This isn’t just about a yearning to be close to someone or to have company, but your soul is trying to get your attention so you don’t let this moment pass by. Because if we continually try to control our deepest desires, all that ends up happening is that those repressed desires control us.
