While some relationship advice may say it's communication, and though that's also true, partners want to know they have support. We all have our own ways of being encouraging, and the way you show encouragement may not be the same way your partner does.
How we behave in our relationships have a lot to do with our personalities, past relationships, and how we saw our parents or other people encourage others. Did you have a coach or teacher who encouraged you to do better? Did they say it in words, or did their actions help you to try harder?
Just like everything else in astrology, our zodiac signs have a lot to do with how we encourage our partners.
It’s great when both partners encourage each other, but sometimes, the encouragement isn’t balanced; one partner can be much more encouraging than the other. Knowing that your partner not only believes in you but wants you to succeed as badly as you do can mean the difference between giving up and continuing on.
Encouragement can light a fire under you to keep going when you feel stuck and uninspired. As great as encouragement is, you never want your partner to overdo it because then it just feels fake. You need just the right balance of encouragement and affection.
So, how does each zodiac sign encourage their partner?
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries is encouraging by doing something for their partner that's on their to-do list. It may be something their partner has been putting off doing, or something their partner really doesn't enjoy doing.
By taking care of it for them, Aries demonstrates how much they want to help their partner and make space for their beloved to focus on the things they want to do, instead of just the things they need to do.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus encourages their partner by being their sounding board. If their partner needs to bounce ideas off somebody or just need to say it out loud so they get a clearer vision, Taurus is there for it.
If their partner wants to vent, complain, or figure out solutions, they know Taurus is right there for them. Sometimes just knowing your partner is willing to listen is all the encouragement you need.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Since talking to people is one of Gemini's talents, they encourage their partner with words. They know exactly what they should say to help motivate and support their partner.
Gemini might remind their partner of past successes or times when they thought they had failed and hadn't, or times when they made a mistake but learned from it. Gemini's words let their partner know they are supported no matter what.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer encourages their partner by being present and paying close attention to their goals, dreams, and aspirations. If they didn't pay attention, they might miss important things.
Cancer individuals are aware and can help their partner take advantage of opportunities or help them adjust their plans. Their partner knows they're not alone in their journey when Cancer shows they're invested too.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos support their partners by giving them the time and space they need. If their partner needs to be alone to concentrate on a project, Leo doesn't demand they spend more time with them; if their partner needs assistance, Leo is happy to help in any way that they can.
Leos are known for being helpful and loyal to the people they care about, but this goes double for their partners.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
People can become overwhelmed sometimes with all the things they want to achieve. Virgos help their partners keep track of their goals, and they do this in such a way that it doesn't feel intrusive or threatening, just loving and supportive.
When their partner gets stuck, Virgo will help come up with solutions and answers. Virgo's partner knows this zodiac sign is always there for them.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras encourage their partners by making them laugh when they're stressed out. Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do for your partner is to lighten up their mood.
If someone is tense and feeling very negative about things, laughter is the best medicine. When you laugh, it can help to change your perspective and allows you to relax enough to see alternative solutions.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio encourages their partners by keeping track of the things that matter to them and following their progress on those things with interest. Knowing that your partner cares about the things you do is very encouraging.
Scorpios tend to be extremely faithful and will always stand by their partner, even if others wouldn't be as loyal. No matter the situation, Scorpio will always do their best to help their partner handle it.

Sagittarius encourages their partner to try something new. They helps their partner to feel safe to go into unchartered territory or challenge themselves to do something they've never done before, even if it seems a little scary.

It's not helpful and is actually a little hurtful to not believe what someone is telling you about their feelings. Capricorns would never disrespect their partner in that way.

Aquarius encourages their partner by celebrating all wins, big or little. These individuals know that sometimes the simplest action can be all that one needs to keep going.
If one takes enough baby steps, over time, they'll eventually reach their goal, so why not celebrate along the way? Celebrating all the wins makes them feel supported, on the right track, and loved.

Pisces encourages their partner by saying something positive every day. In fact, Pisces are their partner's own hype person. They are there cheering their partner on and encouraging them every step of the way with their kindness.
