How The Zodiac Signs Negotiate Peace In Their Relationships

getty The ability to be able to negotiate peace is a very important skill to have in a relationship, especially when one small disagreement can morph into a major issue. Conflicts often get worse when you don’t deal with them head-on, and what seemed like a small thing can break up a relationship.
In astrology, the zodiac signs all have their own methods for conflict resolution. For some, acknowledging the problem and coming up with an answer on how to resolve conflict is the best course of action; for others, they ignore the problem and hope it goes away on its own.
There is such a thing as positive conflict, and it’s exactly those things that may seem negative but when you face them, the foundation of the relationship is strengthened. If there are no disagreements or issues, not only would it be boring and passionless, but there would be no impetus for growth.
When you are good at conflict resolution, winning the argument or being “right” isn’t as important as being able to see things from your partner’s perspective. It’s about having the self-esteem to be assertive without being overly aggressive, and communicating in a way that doesn’t cause negative feelings to escalate.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries are very busy people and they know that a long, drawn-out discussion isn't helpful in resolving a conflict. The more time that's involved, the more heated the discussion; emotions can be triggered and misunderstandings can happen.
Aries prefer to schedule a discussion and set a time-limit on it. The optimal amount of time is 30 minutes; if more time is needed, Aries is open to scheduling additional time.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
A furious Taurus is not someone you want to deal with in a potentially emotional discussion, so in order to avoid escalating the situation, they will take a moment before the discussion to calm themselves. If they find themselves getting extremely angry, they will take a time out.
Taking the time to process their feelings can help prevent Taurus from reacting from a place of hurt and lashing out.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Conflict resolution of any kind, but especially in relationships, is Gemini's superpower. They're gifted at all things communication, so negotiating peace in a relationship is something they instinctively know how to do.
The first thing Gemini will do is speak their mind, honestly and without malice. They don't want to cause any extra pain; they just want to get across where they're coming from and how they're feeling.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers don't want to cause someone they love any unnecessary pain, so they try to address issues as they come up. Cancers don't want to internalize their feelings and have any negative feelings eat them up from the inside, so they try not to hold grudges, stockpile resentments, or hang on to anger or disappointment.
Cancers want to have an open dialogue not block every avenue of communication.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos are also great communicators. What they do to negotiate peace in a relationship is to take full responsibility for their actions, needs, behaviors, feelings, and words. They try to use "I" statements so that when they're sharing their thoughts and emotions, their partner doesn't feel attacked.
Leo is able to make a safe environment to resolve conflict and it helps to keep things calm. Your partner is more likely to meet you halfway when they don't feel emotionally threatened.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos know a lot about problem-solving, so they're very logical and successful when it comes to resolving conflicts in their relationships. The pragmatic side of Virgo knows that instead of demanding their partner change, Virgo asks for their partner's ideas and input to brainstorm solutions.
Working together is an efficient and effective way of working through a relationship challenge. Virgos aren't going to give up on a relationship when it becomes difficult; they're going to find ways to repair it.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras don't love conflict, but when it happens they know it's better to deal with it than to let it fester. Libras like things to be fair and balanced so they always try to give equal time to their partner so they have the opportunity to discuss their own concerns, worries, and solutions.
Since Libras are open to other people's perspective, they're usually open to what their partner says and will take any suggestions into consideration.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios can sometimes react from a place of pain or anger, but because this sign tends to be highly intelligent, they know to go inward before making any big statements or taking extreme actions. Scorpios will try to figure out what's making them angry or hurt before confronting their partner.
They will look for solutions that will benefit both parties. Scorpios will also try not to judge, insult, be dismissive or sarcastic, or roll their eyes when trying to resolve a conflict.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Relationship conflicts make Sagittarius feel very uncomfortable and their first instinct is to not engage. However, if their relationship is worth something to them, they know that finding a way for a peaceful negotiation is crucial.
Sagittarians tend to be open-minded, so when working to resolve a conflict in their relationship, they'll encourage their partner to be honest. They will listen to their partner in hopes of better understanding them and see things from their point of view.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
When trying to resolve conflict in their relationship, Capricorn knows to never make the situation more important than their relationship. Capricorn's intent will be to resolve a dispute to the satisfaction of both people, not just theirs.
They're not interested in winning an argument if it means shattering the relationship. Capricorns tend to plan out how they'll approach their partner, suggest ways of solving the problem, and handle one issue at a time.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarians are able to keep a clear head and not get increasingly emotional when they're working to resolve a conflict with their partner. They know better than to expect their partner to read their mind, so they're very clear about what they're thinking and feeling.
They don't bring other people's opinions into the discussion nor do they use comparisons to try to convince their partner to see things from their perspective. Most of all, Aquarians try not to accuse their partner or put them on the defensive.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
When Pisces is trying to negotiate peace in their relationship, the first thing they do is make sure their partner knows they're coming from a place of love. Pisces tries to convey to their partner how much they appreciate them and how grateful they are to have them in their life.
If they need to apologize for their behavior, Pisces will do so, and they are able to admit when they're wrong. The biggest thing is that they won't have discussions like this when either party is tired, nor will Pisces have them in the bedroom, which is a sanctuary.
