Arie came under fire for breaking up with Becca after proposing to her on the season finale.

In a dramatic twist during the season finale of The Bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr., 36, broke off his engagement with Becca Kufrin, 27, weeks after he proposed to her in Peru.

ABC aired the unedited version of their breakup during Monday's episode and in it, Arie says he was still in love with runner-up Lauren Burnham, 26.

Leading up the final rose ceremony, Arie was open on the show about his conflicting feelings for the two women. Despite saying multiple times that he wasn't sure how he was going to choose, he sent Lauren home and asked Becca to marry him.

Though Arie came under fire for his behavior during their very public breakup, Becca recently spoke to people about how she felt about it and the question on everyone's minds: Did Lauren take him back?

"He’s a good person, I don’t think he’s a monster and purposely did this to hurt me and make me feel this way," she told PEOPLE. "But it’s just the result of his actions."

"At the end of the day, I don’t think he thought through everything of how ending things with Lauren would be, how being engaged to me would be and what breaking up with me and going back to her would be. I don’t think he thought it through, but I don’t think he did it maliciously to break my heart.”

But Becca also said that it was "embarrassing" for him to breakup with her on camera.

"There was a better and more tactful way to do it,” she said. “A breakup is hard enough, and to have it all filmed and have to re-watch it and know that people all across the country are watching you get your heart broken, it is embarrassing. It’s not fun. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It was like a slap in the face.”

She said she realized there were red flags when she noticed he was liking Lauren's photos on Instagram.

Becca also shed some light on the status of Lauren and Arie's relationship and if she took him back after he broke up with her in Peru.

“They’re going to be together and do their thing. I wanted to move on and have my person that I can focus on and live my life with,” Becca said. “At the end of the day, I do forgive him.”

The live, two-hour special After the Final Rose airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
