romantic Valentine's Day dinner with your partner is only complete when paired with the perfect drinks. The right combination of alcohol and aphrodisiacs can make your night all the more sensual and invigorating. All you need is some sugar, spice, and everything PINK! (Well, almost everything.)

Celebrate your love like Dionysus himself with any one of these Valentine's Day cocktails. 

1. Chocolate Raspberry Martini

Valentine's Day and chocolate are absolutely inseparable. Chocolate is, of course, one of if not the most popular aphrodisiacs in the world. The chemical compounds in chocolate actually recreate the feeling of happiness and the sensation of falling in love.

So basically, science wants you to drink this scrumptious chocolate raspberry martini. It's also super simple to make!


  • 1 oz raspberry vodka
  • 1 oz dark creme de cacao 
  • 1 oz cream
  • 1/2 oz Tia Maria


  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all ingredients into shaker and shake well. 
  3. Strain into a martini glass.
  4. Garnish with raspberries. 

2. The Pink Lady

The Pink Lady is a classic cocktail. It has been served in America even prior to the Prohibition, but it can still make for a dazzling drink for your 2018 V-Day date. 


  • 1 egg white (traditional, but not required)
  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1 or 2 dashes grenadine
  • 3/4 oz applejack


  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all ingredients into shaker and shake well. 
  3. Strain into chilled glass.
  4. Garnish with Maraschino cherry. 

3. Espresso Martini

  • 6 oz vodka
  • 4 oz coffee liqueur 
  • 4 oz brewed espresso
  • 2 oz white creme de cacao 


  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all ingredients into shaker and shake well. 
  3. Strain into martini glass.
  4. Garnish with coffee beans. 

​4. Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita

  • 12 strawberries (no tops)
  • 1 thin slice of jalapeño
  • 2 juiced limes
  • 2 tbsps agave nectar
  • 4 oz silver tequila


  1. Blend strawberries and jalapeño in blender until smooth.
  2. Combine with other ingredients in shaker with ice and shake well.
  3. Strain the mixture and serve over ice.
  4. Garnish with lime and/or strawberry.  

5. The Lady Killer

  • 1 oz dry gin
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau 
  • 1/2 oz apricot brandy
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz passion fruit juice


  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all ingredients into shaker and shake well. 
  3. Strain into champagne glass with ice.
  4. Garnish with Maraschino cherry.

6. Spiked Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

This cocktail definitely takes the cake (sorry, had to!) as far as dessert cocktails go. Hot chocolate is heartwarming on its own, but red velvet and red wine seal the deal. It's pretty much impossible not to feel giddy when drinking this one.   


  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sweet/fruity red wine
  • 50g (or 2 oz or 1/3 cup) chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla 
  • 1/2 tsp red food coloring
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Heat milk in saucepan until steaming (not boiling!).
  2. Whisk in pinch of salt, wine, and chocolate until melted.
  3. Turn off heat. Whisk in vanilla and food coloring.
  4. Top with whipped cream and red velvet cake crumbs.

7. The Aphrodite

  • 1 oz cream sherry
  • 1 oz dry vermouth
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

  2. Pour all ingredients into shaker and stir well. 
  3. Strain into chilled glass.
  4. Garnish with orange peel.

8. Cupid's Arrow

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz blood orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz orange juice
  • Splash of lemon 
  • 5 chopped strawberries or raspberries
  • 1 tsp sugar 
  • 1/2 can lemon lime soda


  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all ingredients (except soda) into shaker and shake well. 
  3. Rim cocktail glass with sugar (extra love points for pink sugar!).
  4. Pour mixture into glass with ice. 
  5. Stir in soda. 

9. Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail

  • 4 oz Champagne
  • 1/2 tsp pomegranate juice
  • 1 tsp cassis 


  1. Place a few pomegranate arils in Champagne flute. 
  2. Pour Champagne into Champagne flute first, then add juice and cassis.

  • 1 oz Jameson
  • 1 oz Baileys
  • 1 oz butterscotch schnapps 
  • 2 1/2 oz coffee


  1. STIR! That's it! 
  2. Add whipped cream and caramel drizzle on top.
