Earlier this week, Twitter exploded when a former member of the Pussycat Dolls compared the girl group to a prostitution ring, claiming they were regularly abused by members of the music industry.

“My truth,” Kaya Jones tweeted, “I wasn't in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring. Oh and we happened to sing and be famous. While everyone who owned us made the [money].

“How bad was it? People ask - bad enough that I walked away from my dreams, band mates and a $14m record deal. We knew we were going to #1.”

In her Twitter thread, she called for the "den mother from hell" to confess as to why "another 1 of her girl group girls committed suicide."

Many people allege that she was referring to Robin Antin, who founded the Pussy Cat Dolls in 1995.

After being in the group for two years, Jones left in 2005 right before they landed a record deal. She's now a platinum recording artist and political commentator.

The Pussycat Dolls released a statement denying Jones' claims, saying they could not “stand behind false allegations towards other group members partaking in activities that simply did not take place.”

"While we were not aware of Kaya's experiences that allegedly took place during her short time working with us, before the group signed a recording contract, we can firmly testify that we were not privy to any misconduct taking place around us," the statement read.

"The Pussycat Dolls has always and will always stand for female empowerment and sisterhood,” the statement read. “We stand in solidarity with all women who have bravely spoken publicly of their horrific experiences of abuse, harassment, and exploitation.”

Antin also responded to the claims in an interview with The Blast saying Jones was just looking for some attention.

She reportedly called the singer's tweets "disgusting, ridiculous lies," and that she is "clearly looking for her 15 minutes."

Antin also said that Jones was only on trial during her time with the group and was never an official member of the Pussycat Dolls. Sources close to the group said their lawyer is drafting a legal letter to warn Jones to stop spreading lies about the group.

Jones responded to Antin's interview on Twitter, saying "Doing this to gain 15 mins says the abuser. I went platinum this year. Did you? No. 10 years dated group but your helping my career hahaha."

Here are 10 things we've learned about Antin and the rumors of her alleged abuse:

1. She's made her name creating girl pop groups, starting with PCD.

Though she started with the Pussy Cat Dolls, Antin went on to create groups such as the Dirty Virgins, Girlicious, Paradiso Girls and G.R.L, which was the second most popular group since PCD.

She also had her own clothing line inspired by the Pussycat Dolls and her own line of workout DVDs.

2. Antin originally formed the Pussycat Dolls as a burlesque group.

When Antin started the group in 1995, she formed them as a burlesque dance troupe who's Las Vegas shows attracted a Hollywood following of Britney Spears, Pink and Brittany Murphy.

In 2003, she reinvented them as a pop group.

3. One of Antin's singers committed suicide.

Simone Battle, a member of G.R.L., was found dead in her Hollywood home in 2014. Police ruled the 25-year-old's death as a suicide. She had hanged herself.

Other members of the group said they didn't notice any signs that Battle was depressed, but TMZ reported that she was "depressed over money issues."

Her family didn't understand how she had money struggles because of the success G.R.L. was having. They did say Battle was concerned she would never make it big. Jones alleged on Twitter that Antin's abuse drove the young singer to suicide.

4. A former PCD member wrote a song rumored to be about Antin's abuse.

J Sutta, who went by Jessica Sutta when she was in the Pussycat Dolls, released a song in 2015 that many people believed was directed to Antin.

Titled "Feline Ressurection," the video shows Sutta being beaten up by a leather-clad woman (who resembles Antin) for "drinking her milk." The woman then drowns Sutta, and Sutta is reborn and takes over the throne, saying:

“You can say bye to the pretty cat’s meow/ This pussycat learned to growl.”

5. Jones has told Antin before to stop saying she wasn't in PCD.

Despite Jones' telling Antin to stop saying she was never in the Pussycat Dolls, the founder continues to say that Jones was never really a member.

6. Antin kicked a member out of Girlicious for being "too urban."

Antin kicked out Tiffanie Anderson of the group Girlicious in 2009 because her "urban vibe" wasn't a fit for the group.

She had a short-lived singing career, but did catch a bit of a following from her artwork.

7. Antin is related to celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Antin.

Jonathan Antin, known for crying publically on "Blow Out," is Robin Antin's brother.

They're also related to actor/director Steve Antin.

8. She's also good friends with Kim Kardashian.

Wonder what Kim K thinks of the rumors...

9. Jones was actually discovered by R. Kelly when she was 13.

Daily Mail

Jones was 13 years old when she was discovered by R. Kelly, who's had rumors of abuse following him his entire career. Jones claims that the R&B singer never touched her.

10. Jones also said she was sexually assaulted by a Hollywood executive in the back of a limo.

Daily Mail

"As just one example, a record executive asked me to get into his car and I accepted. We were in Las Vegas and we were all racing to get to the airport to take us back to LA after the show," Jones said to the Daily Mail.

"It was just a 10-minute ride. I remember getting in the back seat of the limo with him and within seconds he jumped on me. I literally had to fight him off all the way to the airport."

Jones also said that Antin abused her daily.

"She mentally and verbally abused us every second of the day," Jones said. "She would tell me how fat my a-- was or how small another girl's breasts were."
