Aries zodiac signs are intense. Born from March 21 through April 21, they are the first sign in the zodiac cycle beginning at the Vernal equinox making their modality the most Cardinal of the Cardinals — the go-getters, the action takers.

What happens when an Aries is hurt?

When an Aries is hurt, they will let you know with their blunt and impulsive actions. Aries’ element is fire making them naturally very passionate, inclined towards exploration, and a little bit scary when set off.

Their passion drives their emotions and makes them come off as very intense particularly when their emotions are negative. Mars is Aries’ ruling planet and represents the Greek god of war, Ares.

This ruling planet makes Aries naturally primal, fearless, and aggressive. These traits have a useful power in the correct contexts, but in times of conflict these traits make you not want to be at the receiving end of the Aries’ wrath, and Aries doesn’t shy away from conflict.

So what if you cross an Aries? Is it the end?

Here's what happens when an Aries gets hurt, per astrology:

Aries gets emotional.

Aries feel strongly. The fiery passion that drives all Aries’ actions also drives their emotions. When they believe in something they are gung-ho in expressing their viewpoints and standing by them. If an Aries is offended, they feel that offense deeply. Not only are their feelings severely hurt, but their reactions are severe as well.

Aries’ polar opposite is Libra on the opposite end of the calendar ruled by Venus the goddess of relationships and emotion. This polarity causes Aries to feel uncomfy with their feelings, but they are not ones to ignore their problems and hope that they go away. Their discomfort needs an outlet in order to be resolved.

Aries fight when hurt.

Aries don’t back down. Aries will not shy away from conflict. Their Cardinal modality makes them take matters as they come. When an Aries is hurt, they will let you know right away.

If Aries has something to say, then they will say it without hesitation. In times of conflict, this assertiveness can either irk the other person, or it can quickly clear the air. Don’t mistake an Aries’ firmness as stubbornness, but their minds won’t change unless they are presented with good reasons to alter their viewpoint.

Aries takes action when they get hurt.

Aries are impulsive. As the Cardinal of the Cardinals, Aries are quick action-takers. They act on gut feelings leading to many impulsive decisions. This tendency towards impulsivity can make Aries very reactive in conflict.

It’s important to word what you say to an Aries very carefully and deliberately so that they don’t take something the wrong way and run with it. Their impulses can come out even when an Aries is not directly facing their conflicts through impulsive self-medicating behavior be it having a wild night out or the infamous post-break-up dye job.

Aries may say mean things when hurt.

Aries’ strength is not communication. Aries zodiac signs are about action. That mixed with their impulsive behavior doesn’t make them the best communicators. Their directness can border on harsh or even cruel. Don’t get in a tiff with an Aries unless you’re prepared to hear what they really think.

Especially when they’re hurt, Aries won’t think through what they say before they say it, they’ll tell you what comes to mind when it comes to mind. As I’ve mentioned before, the opposite of Aries is Libra which is the zodiac sign of diplomacy, making diplomacy a struggle for Aries.

That sort of balance and communication just doesn’t come naturally to Aries, and when they’re triggered into their emotions, it’s the furthest thing from their minds.

Aries don’t hold grudges.

Their direct and live-in-the-moment disposition doesn’t let Aries hang onto past conflicts. They like to deal with things head-on so that there can be a conclusion to the issue and no harbored feelings of things left unsaid.

Even if the other person/people involved don’t let Aries deal with the conflict directly, they will find an outlet to get all of the emotions out so that they don’t have to carry them around and let them fester. Aries, like everyone, can get hurt sometimes, but you don’t have to worry about them staying angry. Once an Aries has closed a chapter, they don’t reread it.
