When you’re starting a new relationship or taking it to the next level, relationship advice can be something extremely helpful. We want other people who have gone through experiences similar to ours to share insights they discovered. And when you add astrology and zodiac signs into the mix, each of them has one particular piece of advice they cling to.
However, you don’t have to go through anything in particular to learn a lesson from it. You might be surprised how helpful it can be to hear what someone else went through and the wisdom they got from it.
On the other hand, the last thing you want to hear is someone else’s opinion, especially if you don’t feel they’re an expert or you can't relate to their experience. There are some people who, no matter how great their advice might be, just don’t hear it.
Since we are so inundated by advice, it can be challenging to pick through it all to find the words and message that resonates with you. Once you hear the perfect piece of advice, it becomes a part of you and your life.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries tend to be very adventurous, fun, lively, and passionate. They need someone who can share in their passions with them and who will encourage them to live life to the fullest, not someone who will hold them back.
Aries' piece of advice is "It's not about finding the person you want to share your life with; it's about finding the person you want to live your life with." They need a partner in crime, not a wet blanket.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus are down to earth, patient, and take a while before they'll trust someone enough to commit to them. You could say they're careful.
Taurus' piece of advice is "Remember that just because someone doesn't love you in the exact way that you want to be loved, that doesn't mean they don't love you with everything they have." They need to be reminded that their way of loving isn't their partner's way.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis are the great communicators, so you'd think that talking to their significant other would be something that comes easily to them. But that's not always the case.
Geminis don't love confrontation and they don't like to be the bad guy. A Gemini may do whatever means is necessary to not discuss a problem. Their piece of advice is "Don't talk around or avoid your issues. Talk about them openly, honestly, and don't take too much time to do it."
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers are givers — they are protective, loving, and caring to those closest to them. They tend to put other people's needs before their own.
Cancer's advice is "Fit your own oxygen mask first," which means to make sure that you're taken care of first or you won't have anything left to give yourself and others. It's not selfish to make your own needs a priority.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos are confident, strong, and straightforward. They like being in control of everything. Leo's advice is "Let your partner lead every now and then."
Nobody wants to have all their decisions made for them because it makes them feel as if they have no power. You can be the dominant partner, but it's a good idea to encourage your partner to participate in the decision-making process, even if it's as simple as deciding where to go for dinner.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos like to plan, they like things in their place, and they tend to aim for perfection. Virgo's advice is "Don't sweat the small stuff."
Virgos need to remember that they can't micromanage everything and that some of the best moments come from mistakes or things that happen spontaneously. They need to let go of their expectations and enjoy what comes.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras are the diplomats of the zodiac; they want everyone around them to be happy and calm. They don't enjoy confrontation and don't like getting into verbal fights.
Libra's advice is "Talk openly about everything, even the stuff that hurts." Libras tend to stuff down their feelings and blow up later. If they can remind themselves to deal with issues head-on and in a timely manner, their relationship will be stronger.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios are much more sensitive than they like to let on, and they're very intuitive. Since they prize honesty, one of their abilities is being able to tell when someone is lying, which Scorpio detests. When they get hurt, they can be just as passionate at revenge as they were about the relationship.
Scorpio's advice is "Forgiveness is everything in a relationship, so keep working at getting better at it." The more compassion and kindness Scorpio can demonstrate towards their partner and themselves, the stronger their relationship will be.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarians love to be excited and try new things. They always want to change things up, including their relationships, so sometimes working through a problem with their partner is a challenge.
Sagittarius' advice is "Learn to ride the wave," which means to take things as they come and deal with them. There will be good times and bad in a relationship, and you can't just walk away from every conflict.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns are so hard-working that sometimes they work too hard on their relationships. Like a job, relationships need to take vacations, relax, and make sure you and your partner have play time.
Capricorn's advice is "Make sure to have fun, even if it means scheduling it in." Having fun will help the bond between the partners, and it will make them feel better physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarians tend to have a lot of people in their life. This can cause problems in the relationship if they don't make time to focus on their partner. If there's a problem and Aquarius goes to everyone but their partner, that can cause a huge fracture in the relationship.
Aquarius' advice is "When there's a conflict, turn inward to the relationship rather than outward to others." If you don't trust your partner enough to give you the advice and support you need, why are you with them?
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces love romance and love. If life was a romance novel, they'd be in heaven. However, life isn't a fantasy and sometimes you have to work on your relationship.
Commitment doesn't promise that your relationship will be easy. Relationships take work if they're going to last. Pisces' advice is "Remember to have realistic expectations about love and romance." That's not to say that love can't be magical, it's just not magical every moment of every day.
