Sometimes it's easier to lie than tell the truth.

Everybody lies, even the most honest and dependable among us. We lie to be kind, we lie to cause trouble, and we lie because we don’t want to know the truth. Sometimes we have good reasons (or so we tell ourselves) to lie, and other times, we lie because it seems easier.
For the lying zodiac signs in astrology, the type of lies they tell may have psychological reasons, emotional reasons, or they might just be part of their personality. And what the zodiac signs lie about really just depends on that.
How many times a day do you lie? There are times when we lie and we think those lies aren’t a big deal, especially if no one gets hurt as a result. Movies and TV often expose how lying damages people and how eventually all lies are exposed. However, in real life, some lies are never uncovered and brought out into the light of day.
The question is: can you live with the lies you’ve told, or will they weigh heavily upon you for years? Some lies come back when you least expect them and cause you more trouble than what you would have experienced if you had just told the truth!
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries will lie when they take on too much and are overscheduled because they won't want to let somebody down. They'll lie about their motivations about why they do certain things, and they'll lie about completely researching and thinking something over before they do it. They tend to be impulsive and don't have the patience or the discipline to wait before jumping in.
Aries like to be thought of as knowledgeable, so they might lie about knowing something when they actually don't. They will lie about not needing help with a project or a task because they don't want anyone to think of them as incapable.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus will lie to themselves about something that has made them emotional, telling themselves that they don't care. They also lie about being jealous when they probably are seething with jealousy, and they'll lie about their laziness, because no one needs to know they weren't working on a special project unless that special project was binge-watching Ozark.
Taurus will lie when they've spent too much money and been too indulgent with themselves. Why yes, they did need to buy that expensive bottle of wine for themselves.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis tend to lie to themselves about being able to finish a task within a certain time frame. Since they're often late, they'll lie about the reasons why they were late, and they'll swear that they're never usually late, which is also a lie.
Geminis don't always keep their word and they'll lie about how diligent they are on keeping their promises. Sometimes a Gemini will lie when they're telling a story about someone — not a malicious lie, but something to make the story better.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers like to pretend they're more independent than they really are and will lie about how clingy and needy they can be. They will lie about their feelings and will try to come off as feeling more positive and upbeat than what they're really feeling.
If they're hurt by something that they have done, they'll lie to themselves that it was the other person and that Cancer acted in a mature and reasonable way. If a Cancer is angry with you and you confront them on it, they may lie and say they're not mad at you.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos may lie to get ahead, but in their mind, those are little white lies/praise and don't really count. If a Leo has a grudge or suffered a past injustice, they may lie that they're over it when that's far from the truth.
They may lie about how much they need to be in the center of the spotlight, but when they do, no one really believes them. Leos sometimes lie to come off as more important and skilled than they are, but if they're forced to prove their ability they usually surprise themselves with their adeptness.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos will lie about how perfectionistic and fault-finding they are. Virgos like things to be orderly, clean, and for everything to be in its place and may lie that they're not bothered when someone does something to disrupt the order.
Since Virgos hate when things go off plan, they may lie about it just so they don't appear to be too stressed about it. That's another thing Virgos lie about: how stressed they are. They feel they should be able to do everything and do it well so they put a lot of pressure on themselves.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
When Libras lie, they may swear up and down that they're telling the truth. They may be so passionate that they're not lying that you might believe them, but just because Libra doesn't want to be lying that doesn't mean they're not doing it.
They lie to make people feel better, they'll lie if it will avoid trouble, and they'll lie if it prevents them from being called out. There are times when a Libra may "embellish" the truth like saying they won something when all they got was an honorable mention or a certificate for participation.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios can't stand liars but that doesn't stop them from occasionally lying. If someone breaks their heart, Scorpio may lie about how devastated, how obsessed, and how hell-bent they are for revenge.
They may lie if they feel it will get them closer to their goals of making someone pay for hurting them. They'll lie to make something seem more important or dramatic. Sometimes they lie just because they feel cranky and contrary.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius will lie if it helps them to avoid pain, especially if that pain comes from ugly truths about themselves. Sagittarius will lie to be diplomatic and to help guarantee that people think highly of them.
There are times when Sagittarius will lie about the level of commitment they have or about how much they care. They don't like feeling trapped or confined so they will lie for their freedom.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns will lie about not needing anyone's help and that they have everything under control when they don't. They'll lie about how social they'd be, pretending they'd go out every night if they could, when the truth is they definitely need some downtime to decompress.
Capricorns will lie about how great they are at self-care when they tend to forget about taking care of themselves because they're so busy trying to fix everyone else's problem. They will lie about having the answer and then work their butts off trying to find it.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius like to pretend that they're cutting edge and completely on trend, but they can be just as introverted as anyone. They will lie about their emotions, saying they weren't hurt when they were, and they will pretend they're great when they're sad because they consider their emotions something private and don't want to seem too vulnerable.
Aquarius will lie about not wanting to stir up trouble when that's exactly what they want to do.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
There are times when Pisces is so wrapped up in their own imaginary world that when they're dragged back to reality, they'll lie about where they were just then. Pisces may lie about how they're feeling, but then those emotions will explode out sometime later.
Pisces will lie to get out of doing something they don't want to do, and rather than disappoint someone or tell them no, they will lie. Pisces will also lie about how pessimistic they can be because they're afraid people will think they're too negative.
