He already has a massive YouTube following and opened for Selena Gomez!

Noah Guthrie, the YouTuber and musician who made a name for himself in viral videos, opening for the likes of Selena Gomez, and on FOX hit television series Glee, is auditioning for America's Got Talent — and we are psyched!

After going viral on YouTube in videos of himself covering popular songs, Guthrie got the chance of a lifetime playing the role of Roderick Meeks, a senior at William McKinley High School who joins New Directions, the school's popular glee club.

Guthrie joined the cast of Glee in its final season, and he even appeared in the show's series finale as well.

Now that Glee is no longer on the air though, Noah is searching for new outlets to share his musical gifts outside of just the internet world. This had led the young performer to audition for the reality competition show America's Got Talent.

In honor of his debut audition for America's Got Talent, here are seven interesting things you should know about who Noah Guthrie is, how he landed is role on Glee, his connection to Ellen DeGeneres, and more.

1. Ellen DeGeneres gave him his first big break

Noah was already putting up performance videos on YouTube when The Ellen Show reached out to him after seeing a cover he did of the U2 song "Where the Streets Have No Name."

The show used his video as a part of a competition. After winning that competition, Noah was given the opportunity to secure professional management for his musical career.

2. His version of "Sexy and I Know It" was "stolen" for another competition show audition.

After his big break with The Ellen Show, Noah started making covers of hit songs for YouTube on the regular. One of those was a blues-inspired rendition of the LMFAO club anthem "Sexy and I Know It."

This video got over 22 million views on YouTube, but the controversy came when a contestant on The Voice used Guthrie's version for his own audition. The contestant, Christian Porter, even admitted that his performance was inspired by Noah's take on the song.

3. He previously turned down several singing competition shows.

It's ironic considering that he is now auditioning for America's Got Talent, but Noah actually turned down opportunities to audition for both American Idol and The Voice.

At the time, Noah was already a major force on YouTube and that's when the competition shows came calling, likely wanting to attract the audience that a viral star could bring to their shows. It was a month after turning those two shows down, however, that Noah was offered the opportunity to audition for Glee, which he gladly took.

4. His dad was a singer too.

It seems the musical talent runs in the family. Back in the 1970's, Noah's father also worked as a singer.

His dad was a studio singer, which meant he provided background vocals for artists recording songs and albums at the studio.

5. He's opened for Selena Gomez.

Guthrie, who was under the same management as Selena Gomez, got to open for the pop superstar for a performance in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as at her2nd Annual Charity Concert benefiting UNICEF on Friday, January 20, at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA.

In addition to opening for Selena, he's also opened for Ed Sheeran.

6. He's from South Carolina.

When you hear Noah in interviews, you'll notice his sweet, southern accent. That's because he hails from the state of South Carolina.

He currently resides in Greer, South Carolina, but depending on how his audition for America's Got Talent goes, he may be back in Hollywood soon — hopefully to stay.

7. He was bullied in high school.

Guthrie found his role on Glee to be an easy transition because he knows what it's like to be bullied in high school.

"Yeah, I had friends, I had my close friends that I'm still friends with now, but it was definitely always with me, that feeling that I'm the fat kid,"Guthrie said. "I guess I really identify with him just because when I was in high school and started singing, when I opened my mouth and got in choir classes and stuff like that, things got much easier. I guess once you show everybody what you do, what you're passionate about, it does get easier."
