How Each Zodiac Sign Acts When They're Hangry
Don't get between them and their food.
getty While hungry and hangry are similar in some ways, they both have a hunger that needs to be satisfied. Hangry is different because it affects you in a very intense and often emotional way.
There wasn’t always the perfect word for Hangry, a combination of hungry and angry. The person who coined the term may have been so hungry and angry themselves, they felt as if they would rip someone’s throat out if they didn’t get some food.
As with most things involving our responses to situations, each of the zodiac signs in astrology has their own way of acting when they’re hangry. They may become more emotional or they may have a decided physical response.
If your sign reacts to being hangry by physically acting out but you usually get emotional, that doesn’t mean you’re not in sync with your sign; it just means the experiences you had along the way and the responses you’ve witnessed caused you to react emotionally. All we’re saying is that you’ve got to do you, and that goes double for the state of being that involves both hunger and anger.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
If you know an Aries, you know they're sometimes prone to outbursts where they say whatever is on their mind, even if it hurts someone. Well, when Aries is hangry, you can expect them to have an outburst.
Hunger puts them in a bad mood and they get extremely confrontational. You may not avoid getting chewed out by Aries, but if you get some food in them fast, they'll feel bad about it and will bounce back.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus is another sign where you don't want to mess with the timing of their food. If they're hangry, they're both hungry and angry intensely, and can be a little scary. They may not make the best or healthiest choices when they're hangry or go for comfort foods.
They also tend to be very self-indulgent when they're hangry and may eat too much or too quickly. Once satiated, they'll go back to their calmer selves.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
It can be hard to tell when a Gemini is hangry because they'll try to hide it. They don't want to ruin the party or make people feel bad for them, so they'll suck it up until they get food.
However, the longer they're hangry, the more their self-restraint will start to crack. Geminis will start showing signs of anxiety such as talking too fast, not making a lot of sense, and they may feel like there's a disconnect between their brain and their mouth.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer's emotions are always easily accessible, but when they're hangry, those emotions intensify and are easily seen. The little things can make them cry or rage, and it doesn't take much for their emotions to escalate.
The usually kind and caring Cancer will snap at people for no apparent reason, and they may get into arguments over virtually nothing. Hangry is a system overload for Cancer.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
When Leo is hangry, they'll spend so much time trying to get over the anger part that they may overlook their need for nourishment. As their anger subsides and their hunger grows, Leo the easiest item on their to-do list is practically impossible and their high energy has completely left them.
Leos will feel exhausted, and it takes all they have just to keep their eyes open and focused.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Everyone around Virgo is annoying when this sign is hangry. They will become demanding and critical when they're hangry, and it will seem as if no one can do anything right.
Virgos can get harsh and may act more emotional than they normally would. They also may not be able to put things together until they've had something to eat and are able to think rationally again.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
When Libra is hangry, they become obsessed with food. They think about it in strange ways like picturing stealing someone's food right off their plate or watching the Food Network while they're at the gym.
Feeling hangry can drive the friendly and social Libra to be so focused on food that everything and everybody else seems to fall away. Libras wish they could be more detached, but hanger hits them in their gut.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
When Scorpio is hangry, every little thing seems huge and unmanageable. They tend to get stressed out and are a little overdramatic. Scorpio may act like the world is ending or at least their world is ending if they don't get some food.
Scorpios are sensitive anyway, but when they're hangry, their sensitivity is turned up a notch and all their emotions are heightened. The longer the hanger lasts, the worse it gets.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
When a Sagittarius gets hangry, they feel so uncomfortable they will consider eating things they don't even like just because it's there. They know the faster they can get over their hanger, the better they and everyone around them will feel.
Shakiness, weakness, and feeling exhausted are all signs of hanger, and Sagittarius really doesn't like the feeling. The faster the consumption of food, the better.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns like to eat healthy most of the time, but when their blood sugar drops and they're feeling hangry, all bets are off. If there's nothing to raid in the company's kitchen and the cupboards are bare at home, it's not unlike Capricorn to go into a store and fill up their baskets indiscriminately.
They might not even wait to get back to the office or home before they start eating. And eating in the car isn't something this zodiac sign usually does.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
The usually friendly Aquarius becomes much less so when hangry. In fact, they can get very cold and aloof when they're this way. They may do things because they're not thinking straight, and it's best not to take their behavior personally because it has nothing to do with anyone.
They're hungry and angry, and for once they can't come up with a creative solution on how to deal with it.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
When Pisces is hangry, they may turn their anger inward and blame themselves for not planning ahead. They tend to feel weak and lethargic to such an extent that getting up and going to buy food seems like it would take more energy than is available.
Pisces may not feel the food delivery fee is worth it, not realizing that things will not get better until they eat. Sometimes, they just need to force themselves to the store or overlook the delivery fee.
