But which zodiac signs betray the most?
For some zodiac signs, betrayal is unfortunately second nature. It's not that they're out to hurt you, they're just more likely to put their own needs above those of others.
Even though it hurts to be stabbed in the back by someone you respected or trusted, it’s important to be honest with yourself and them rather than try to sweep your feelings about the situation under the rug.
Of course, it also helps to avoid certain zodiac signs because of their reputation as backstabbers (just kidding... maybe).
These are the zodiac signs that betray the most.
1. Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Aries can be a very loyal zodiac sign, but when it comes to deciding to put themself first or their friends, they're more likely to stab you in the back for their own benefit than stick to their loyalties.
While Aries is a great friend, as the first sign of the zodiac, they're used to being number one.
Aries is a very opportunistic zodiac sign. This means that when an opportunity arises for them to get ahead in life, they're bound to take it without a second thought. If that means they have to betray a few people to get what they want, so be it!
2. Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
If any zodiac sign is most likely to stab you in the back without batting an eye, it’s Gemini. They're not the twins (AKA two-faced) of the zodiac for nothing, after all! I know, I know, it’s harsh. But it’s honest. Gemini is a great actor. In other words, they're great at putting up a front until they get their way.
Whether you’re nice to Gemini or you’re their number one enemy, nothing is going to stand in the way of Gemini getting what they want. They have absolutely no reservations about acting like your best friend to get ahead in life, only to turn around and betray you when they get a chance.
3. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Let’s get this out of the way first: Leo is a great friend (and person). But they're also a complete opportunist. Give them even an inch to get ahead, and they're going to take the opportunity and run with it.
Is that a bad thing? Not at all! We only wish we could be as cutthroat as Leo at times. But when an opportunity for success comes along, does that mean Leo is going to take into account what their friends think first? Also, no.
As a fire sign, Leo can be very aggressive and assertive. They know what it takes to be number one in life, and they aren't afraid to step on people when climbing the ladder of success. This doesn’t mean they can’t also be a great mentor and leader, but they can also betray you.
4. Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio has mystery and intrigue on their side, so it’s best to be wary of who they really are. Unless you’re in their inner circle, you have almost no chance of knowing exactly what they're capable of. Even those who think they know a Scorpio can be surprised when they show their true colors.
Scorpio can be a very loyal friend, but they also don't have any hang-ups about betraying you — especially if they've convinced themselves that it’s a good idea. Scorpio can be very secretive and manipulative. If they feel like they can finesse you into believing that they're innocent, just to swoop in and stab you in the back later, they're likely to do just that.
5. Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius can be a great friend… when it's convenient for them. They like being around people who make their life easier or more exciting. But when theyc ome across people who are more exciting or interesting, they have no problem ditching you for them.
Sagittarius will betray you by being disloyal or breaking promises. They can be flaky, yes, but they also just wants to have fun in life. It sounds like a shallow excuse to be a backstabber, but Sagittarius doesn’t really have time to dwell on any misgivings. Not the greatest excuse, but that’s Sagittarius for you.
