What Makes Each Zodiac Sign Feel Trapped
They don't like to be put in a box.
getty I was watching The OA the other night, and I thought to myself, "Whoa, this is one helluva claustrophobic show." Every scene leads to some kind of breath-grabbing trap, where the characters are all gasping for air. And while this is mere fiction, it got me thinking about astrology and how some of us get that trapped feeling more often than not.
While The OA is a TV show, and the parts about being trapped are fictional and over the top, it's still not unrealistic for us to feel as though we too can be trapped, or at least feel it in some very acute ways.
What makes the zodiac signs feel trapped? Each zodiac sign has their own special version of what it's like to feel trapped. We don't all fear or run from the same things, nor are we programmed or designed to feel trapped simply because something traps us.
Depending on our sun sign, we tend to express or feel that claustrophobic sense of entrapment in different ways.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
You feel trapped when you are in a relationship that demands more of you than you ever wanted to give. Love and romance may be your big thing, but in the long run, it's your way or the highway, and if it isn't going swimmingly well, it's a trap for you.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
You are really not cool with having to live up to someone else's expectations. Knowing that someone wants something of you that you don't want to give makes you feel backed up against the wall, a thing you totally resent.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Any kind of plan makes you want to tear your hair out. As a Gemini, you can't give another any kind of commitment, and that drives those around you bonkers. And people going bonkers is what you consider a complete trap, one that you walk away from, conscience-free.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
You are trapped by staying at home, even though it's your number one go-to place. You are a bit fearful of the world, so you tend to nest in your home space, but you always resent the idea that you didn't have the nerve to leave, so home is your trap.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
You feel trapped when nobody is paying attention to you. You'll scream and rant, you'll throw fits and break things, all to get out of that box where no one seems to hear you. You hate when people look the other way, and when they do, you feel all alone in your needs. A trapped feeling indeed.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
What traps you most is your expectation of others. You want people to do your bidding, and when they don't, it's a personal sting. Knowing that someone will not do what you want them to do makes you feel imprisoned. It's a helpless feeling and you hate it.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
You are the main antagonist in your own trap-making. In order to please people, you agree to whatever anyone wants.
Of course, you had no idea how trapped you'd feel after that agreement, but you always come to resent your choices. You put yourself in bad situations that trap you, but it's all you who makes that happen.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
You feel confined by other people's freedom. You do not like when others get their way, and your dire resentment for the happiness others have is enough to make you feel trapped within your own hate. You can't control everything, and the desire to control all things is exactly what keeps you trapped.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Family traps you, and you hate every moment of it. You're way too independent, and you never bought into that idea of family being a good thing.
You don't believe in family, and anything having to do with familial obligation is like a hell trap to you. Having to call your mom for her birthday is similar to a fate worse than death.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
You are continuously getting yourself into traps of your own making, basically because you are always making plans. You like the idea of making plans, but rarely do you like anything more than the "idea" of it. Appointments are your traps, but that doesn't stop you from showing up. You always do.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Being controlled in any way, shape or form is a trap you try to avoid, but often times, can't. You tend to involve yourself in many activities that require giving up control, and when that happens, you usually find yourself scrambling to get out. You will rebel from all control, but until then, you're trapped.
PISCES (February 19 - March 10)
You tend to get that trapped feeling when you can't control others. This could be familial or it could be social.
You're a nice person, but you can't function properly if you can't control others, and that's your trap, right there. You're a little dictator. If you can't rule, it all becomes a trap to you.
