His death brought her back to Instagram after she'd disappeared from social media.

Lil Tay showed a different side of her personality than in her previous videos, breaking down in tears on Instagram in one of many celebrity tributes in the wake of XXXTentacion's sudden and mysterious death earlier this week.

The 9-year-old "flexer" disappeared from social media two weeks ago, seemingly in the process of rebranding, but returned to post heartfelt messages in memorial to XXXTentacion, saying he was like a "father figure" to her, and promising to make sure an upcoming charity event he'd just announced happens.

Since the rapper was shot dead during what some believe to have been an attempted robbery in Miami on Monday, theories and controversies surrounding his murder are spreading quickly as his fans try to figure out who killed XXXTentacion, who was just 20-years-old at the time of his death.

According to the latest report on his cause of death from TMZ"XXXTentacion was shot in the neck during an alleged robbery ... and, according to one person on the scene, it appeared he died instantly."

His fans are devastated over his murder, and Lil Tay appears to be taking XXXTentacion's death especially hard.

Lil Tay changed her Instagram avi to a photo of XXXTentacion, then referred to him as one of her best friends while wiping away tears in the 19-second video clip she posted about his death.

"Love u X RIP My best Friend," she starts her message. "The only one that understood my actual situation and what I was going through, while everyone else wanted to see me fail and spread lies and manipulate the situation ... You was there for me, helping me succeed not just as a friend but like Family ... Love u Jah ... until we meet again."

In another post, Lil Tay explained that XXXTentacion was always there for her, and that she saw him as a father figure, expressing her sadness for the entire world to see, even though she is known for her hard persona on social media.

The post is made up of three photos: one from a FaceTime call between Lil Tay and X, a screenshot of messages from X to Tay about a charity event, and a photo the rapper posted announcing a charity event he was planning before his death.

"X you truly changed me you were there for me when everyone wanted me to fail, you were there to give me advice, you were there. As a father figure, when I don’t have one, you were here, FaceTiming me and calling me for hours when I’m down, 3 hours ago you announced the Charity event we were going to throw, we had everything setup, I can’t believe this, the evil in the world, This isn’t good Bye I love you best friend. I Love you X."

Lil Tay is planning to make sure the charity event focusing on suicide prevention and awareness still happens in memory of her late friend.

Just two hours prior to his death, XXXTentacion announced on Instagram: "Planning a charity event for this weekend Florida!"

Police are still investigating XXXTentacion's murder, and in the meantime, fans have been busy discussing ideas and conspiracy theories about who is responsible for his death.

According to The Sun-Sentinel, authorities believe X's murder was random. Attorney David Bogenschutz told the news outlet that his client's death was the result of "a random robbery" gone wrong.

As could be expected, Twitter disagrees.

The always creative users on that platform are convinced they've solved XXXTentacion's murder, proudly tweeting their evidence to the world.

And as YourTango previously reported, many are accusing rapper Soldier Kidd of killing X, as he was in the area at the time posting photos with friends who match description of the suspects.

There is also a less-supported but fascinating theory that Drake has something to do with X's death, bolstered by the fact that the two had a major feud going on.

We can only hope his killer is identified and held accountable, as we send positive vibes to the family, fans and friends grieving their loss.
