How Your Zodiac Sign Knows You Are In Love

getty Have you ever been completely surprised by your own emotions? Have you ever wondered "am I in love," especially with someone you tell yourself you only see as a friend? Every zodiac sign has their own way of recognizing their feelings, whether or not their horoscope leads them there.
As honest as we may try to be, we lie to ourselves all the time, and one of the major things we lie about is love. Love can be scary, especially if you’ve experienced a bad breakup or have been hurt or betrayed in the past. We want to keep ourselves safe, so we build up a wall of denial.
You can lie to yourself all day long about your feelings, but somehow, they still are able to reveal themselves in subtle and not so subtle ways. Love affects our whole bodies, our emotions, and even our thought processes. It’s why you can feel everything from joy to misery within seconds and without a reason why.
However, if you take the time to look at what you’re doing and how you’re feeling, you may be able to decipher the clues you’re giving yourself. These behaviors may seem innocuous enough, but like any tell, they’re revealing a lot about your state of mind and emotions.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
You will jump through hoops, rearrange your schedule, and travel far distances just to spend time with them. You're more than happy to make an effort to see them. There are times when you don't feel like yourself; in fact, you feel high even though you haven't taken anything.
They say that love is a drug, and if it is, you're not going to say no to it anytime soon.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
If someone talks smack, you defend them even if what they're saying has some truth to it. You're much more open and more willing to try new things.
Generally, you like what you like and don't feel a need to expand upon your already established interests. But now that there's a new love interest in the picture, you want to share in all the hobbies, sports, and cultures that they enjoy.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
When you're in love, your heart syncs up with the heart of your loved one, and without knowing it, both of your hearts beat in time with each other. You're so in sync that you don't get bored even when you're doing the dullest things together like laundry or painting a house.
There's just something about being with them that makes everything fun.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
You not only want your loved one to be happy, you actually let them make you happy. You usually tend to care for others and can neglect taking care of yourself, but when you're in love, you let the other person care for and protect you.
You're able to fully trust them, but even more surprising is that you've actually forgotten your ex. No longer are you concerned about their happiness or what you could have done to have made that relationship last; you're emotionally joined with someone else now.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
You find them annoying, completely irritating, and yet, you can't get enough of them. If you really couldn't stand them, why is it that you love to be with them? They could push every one of your buttons and you'd still go back for more.
The things that would normally turn you off don't even deter you. They could eat something that makes you physically sick and you'd still want to kiss them afterward. Admit it, you're hooked.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
You're comfortable enough around them to show them your real, albeit sometimes odd, self. You know they're not perfect, but you don't focus on their flaws or your own. You know that their quirks, mistakes, and oddities just make them that much more interesting.
You don't feel the need to change them or yourself. That pure acceptance that you're feeling? That's love. When you think of them (which you're doing all the time), it's not because you're adding up their flaws, it's because they're endlessly fascinating to you.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
You don't feel like you have to agree with them on everything. You generally don't love conflict and getting into arguments with people, but with them, you feel like you can have a differing opinion and it won't make a difference on how they feel about you, or how you feel about them.
You feel free to say whatever you like without it being misconstrued or used against you. You feel like you can be honest with them and they won't judge you for it. It's not only respect that you're feeling but love as well.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
One way to tell if it's love that you're feeling is if you can't stop staring at them. Every time you look at them, they seem more beautiful and you see things you never saw before. You never turn away when your eyes lock with theirs because it feels as if that eye contact is binding you together for eternity.
You'd rather just sit with them and look into their gorgeous eyes than do anything else. If you're not careful, you're going to turn into someone who writes songs and poetry about their eyes.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
If making them laugh is of the utmost importance to you, and you can't stop teasing them and telling them jokes, then you're in love. Being funny is part of the flirting process for you.
You know that showing you have a great sense of humor is very endearing, and that knowing what makes them laugh is a sign of truly knowing the person they are on the inside. When you make them laugh until they cry, you feel as if you've achieved something extremely important.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Does being around them make you so nervous that you feel sick to your stomach? Well, that's love. For you, falling in love looks a lot like getting the flu and will only stop once you start to relax and feel comfortable around them.
Right now, you're overly concerned with what they think about you and messing things up with them; new love is very stressful and anxious for you. Luckily, it will all be worth that sweaty, nauseous feeling you have right now.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
You tend to want to distance yourself when things get too emotional, but you can't do that when you're the one with the emotions. All you can do is show them how much you care about them.
It can be a little scary to put yourself out there and be open with how you're feeling, but if you don't, you could lose everything. Be honest with yourself about how you're feeling and sit with it. You'll see that the world won't end just because you love someone, and it might actually make you feel happier about your life.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Have you noticed how present you are with someone, and how you're not retreating into your fantasy world as often? What about the way they seem to inspire you and your creativity? They are your muse and they don't even know it.
You find yourself thinking about them and how they would react to a funny video on the Internet or a gorgeous sunset. That playlist you made for them wasn't just because you like making playlists, it's because you like making playlists for them — and yes, those songs were chosen as secret ways to say, "I love you."
