During the Golden Globes, Oprah Winfrey gave a powerful speech as she accepted the Cecil B DeMille award, hinting that she may run for president.

“A new day is on the horizon!” She exclaimed in her speech. “And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘me too’ again.”

"I thought, 'I don't have the experience, I don't know enough’. Now I’m thinking, 'Oh, oh.’” Winfrey said before, not specifically mentioning Trump – but it can be inferred she was speaking of the current president.

“It’s up to the people,” her longtime partner Stedman Graham told the Los Angeles Times. “She would absolutely do it.”

Oprah’s best friend Gayle King was also moved by her speech and told the Times, “I thought that speech was incredible. I got goosebumps.”

Twitter was quick to respond, with people already creating slogans and possible vice presidents to run alongside Oprah in 2020.

Other celebrities have launched their support for Oprah as well.

“She launched a rocket tonight,” said Meryl Streep. “I want her to run for president. I don't think she had any intention [of declaring]. But now she doesn't have a choice.”

The Golden Globes host Seth Meyers seemed to promote a possible Oprah presidency in his monologue.

“In 2011, I told some jokes about our current president at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Jokes about how he was unqualified to be president,” Meyers said. “Some have said that night convinced him to run. So if that's true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president! You do not have what it takes!”
