Reality TV isn't always what it seems to be on the outside. Bachelor Nations knows this to be true with the many Bachelor and Bachelorette engagements that didn't end up working out. However, there are the lucky few who were able to find real love on the show.

Ever since the creation of "Bachelor in Paradise" there have been even more couples that actually have lasted and prove that maybe this process does work for some. But looking back at all the previous bachelors and bachelorettes, not a lot of the relationships formed turned into actual marriages.

The ones that made their relationship survive all have something in common and that's not rushing into a marriage. Time has also helped most recent couples realize they weren't meant for each other like Clare Crawley and Dale Moss, Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark, and Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes. They still took their engagement seriously but also took their time getting to know each other better while dating after their seasons for months even years.

Here are the few Bachelor Nation relationships that lasted and details on why and how they were able to make it work.

Trista has said in the past what makes their relationship work is putting just as much time and effort into your relationship as you do into everything else. For a total of almost 19 years, this couple has lasted the longest out of all the previous Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants.

It definitely wasn't all roses for these two who sort of had a rough start at the beginning of their relationship. Jason met Molly on his season of "The Bachelor," season 13, however, he didn't initially choose her. He first gave his final rose to Melissa Rycroft, but then changed his mind when he realized Molly was actually the one for him.

The two of them got married in 2010 in a televised ceremony like Trista Sutter, and the rest is history, as the two have been together now for almost 12 years.

Molly is a stepmother to Jason's son Ty from a previous relationship, and the two share their daughter Riley who was born in 2013.

On Joelle Fletcher's (Jojo for short) season of "The Bachelorette," season 12 in 2016, she fought for her “fairytale." She was at first iffy about Jordan Rodgers on her season because of rumors spread by other men in the house that he wasn't there for the right reasons.

Jordan Rodgers is the younger brother of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and also was a former NFL quarterback. Through Fletcher’s season, we found out about the complicated history between Rodgers and his dysfunctional family, especially the relationship between him and his brother. However, the two were able to move forward and Rodgers proved he was there for all the right reasons.

After the pair got engaged at the end of her season in 2016, they didn't make any quick moves to get married but spent their time as a couple getting to know each other more. It's been 5 years now and the two have done a lot together even creating two shows together, one called "Cash Pad" on CNBC, and another called "Battle of the Fittest Couples" on the paramount network.

In "Cash Pad" Jojo used her job as a Real estate developer and the help of her fiance to flip some houses for couples who want to turn their properties into profitable, short-term vacation rentals. The other show was a competition show between 12 athletic couples to compete for a100,000 dollar prize and the title of "Fittest Couple."

The couple also was planning to get married in June 2020 but postponed twice the past year two years due to COVID-19. However, the couple is hoping to officially tie the knot in May 2022.

At the end of the show, she was stuck between two men, Bryan Abasolo and Peter Kraus, and in a heartbreaking finale, she had to say goodbye to Kraus but yes to Miami-based chiropractor Bryan Abasolo.

The two tied the knot in Cancun, Mexico last year after 3 years of being together as an engaged couple. The couple also has recently said they want to start a family and have some children.

Rachel has done a lot since being on the show guest hosting multiple shows including "ESPN First Take," The Real," "Extra With Billy Bush" and starting her own podcast called "Bachelor Happy Hour," while her husband Abasolo has his own podcast called "Dr. Abs Healthcast."

Much like Mesnick, Arie Luyendyk did not have a normal journey on his season of "The Bachelor", season 22 in 2018.

He first was engaged to Becca Kufrin but soon after broke off the engagement because he still had feelings for runner-up Lauren Burnham. On the "After The Final Rose" episode, he then proposed to Burnham and she said yes. After that the rest is history.

The two got married the next year in January 2019 and got busy fast in the past 3 years, having three kids, Alessi, 2, and fraternal twins Senna and Lux, 3 months.

Jared and Ashley first found each other on season 2 of "Bachelor in Paradise" in 2015, however, for Haibon at least it wasn't love at first sight.

Ashley had a big crush on Jared and asked him out where the two dated for two weeks but Jared's heart wasn't in it, telling Ashley he still loved his ex Kaitlyn Bristowe, whose season Jared was on before Paradise.

The two met again on season 3 of "Bachelor in Paradise" in 2016 but it was even worse as they had a sticky relationship but decided to remain friends. Later on Iaconetti joined "The Bachelor Winter Games" and started dating Kevin Wendt for a few months.

It took three years after their first meeting in paradise for the two of them to finally have a chance and fall in love with each other. After Ianconetti and Wendt's relationship ended Jared and Ashley started dating in 2018. Jared finally got down on one knee in Mexico to start the fifth season of "Bachelor in Paradise" in Summer 2018 and proposed.

A year later the two got married in Rhode Island where they live now together and are expecting their first child in February 2022.

After Kevin Wendt and Ashley Iaconetti broke up after "The Bachelor Winter Games," Wendt went on "Bachelor in Paradise" in 2018. However, Kevin first got his start in the bachelor world when he was a contestant on the first season of "The Bachelorette" in Canada.

He ended up winning and getting engaged to Jasmine Lorimer but broke things off five months later. After the winter games two years later, he went onto season 5 of Paradise to meet Astrid Loch, who was on Nick Viall's season of "The Bachelor."

The couple didn't end up with an engagement at the end of the show but did keep dating and finally getting engaged a year later in August  2019. They announced on Instagram in the summer of 2020 that they would get married in November 2021, however, their plans changed when Astrid announced they are having a baby in May 2021.

Their baby boy Auggy was just born in November, so for now, the two are focusing on being good parents raising their new baby boy and hopefully will get married in the near future.

Meeting in the same season as Hannah and Dylan, Caelynn Miller, from Colton Underwood's season of "The Bachelor" and Dean Unglert, from Rachael Lindsays season of "The Bachelorette" found love in "Bachelor in Paradise."

The two of them did end up together in the end but Unglert didn't propose because he's repeatedly said he doesn't believe in marriage.

The two of them have had a wild ride together, embracing the van lifestyle and moving across the US, and in April 2021, the two finally bought a house in Las Vegas and moved in together.

In November 2021, Dean was asked yet again about marriage on his podcast, “Help! I Suck at Dating” and once again said he won't propose, however, if Caelynn did then he would do what she wanted."I've made it pretty clear to her. I was like, 'If you really want to get married, you should be the one proposing to me,' so I think she's got something in the works for that."

Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James

Matt James, who was a friend of runner-up Tyler Cameron on Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette," was chosen to be the bachelor as he seemed like a perfect fit for the show. On his season he met Rachael Kirkconnell who he fell for fast and in the end, he didn't end up proposing but instead gave her the final rose and professed his love to her.

However, after the season aired things changed when allegations surfaced regarding Kirkconnell’s social media and her racially insensitive behavior in the past. The photos on her social media included Kirkconnell attending an antebellum-themed party in college and dressing as a Native American for Halloween. Kirkconnell publicly apologized for her past behavior, which caused her and Matt to break up in February 2021. The scandal also got long-time "Bachelor" franchise host, Chris Harrison, in trouble for defending Rachael's behavior which forced him to step down from his role as host. However, a couple of months later in May 2021, James was willing to give it another go after Kirkconnell had given him an ultimatum.

“She was like, ‘If you’re going to make this work, let’s do it. But, if you’re not going to make it work, I’m going to let you do your own thing,” said James on a podcast called “Pomp."
