Reality TV isn't always what it seems to be on the outside. Bachelor Nations knows this to be true with the many Bachelor and Bachelorette engagements that didn't end up working out. However, there are the lucky few who were able to find real love on the show.

Ever since the creation of "Bachelor in Paradise" there have been even more couples that actually have lasted and prove that maybe this process does work for some. But looking back at all the previous bachelors and bachelorettes, not a lot of the relationships formed turned into actual marriages.

The ones that made their relationship survive all have something in common and that's not rushing into a marriage. Time has also helped most recent couples realize they weren't meant for each other like Clare Crawley and Dale Moss, Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark, and Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes. They still took their engagement seriously but also took their time getting to know each other better while dating after their seasons for months even years.

Here are the few Bachelor Nation relationships that lasted and details on why and how they were able to make it work.

On Joelle Fletcher's (Jojo for short) season of "The Bachelorette," season 12 in 2016, she fought for her “fairytale." She was at first iffy about Jordan Rodgers on her season because of rumors spread by other men in the house that he wasn't there for the right reasons.

Jordan Rodgers is the younger brother of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and also was a former NFL quarterback. Through Fletcher’s season, we found out about the complicated history between Rodgers and his dysfunctional family, especially the relationship between him and his brother. However, the two were able to move forward and Rodgers proved he was there for all the right reasons.

After the pair got engaged at the end of her season in 2016, they didn't make any quick moves to get married but spent their time as a couple getting to know each other more. It's been 5 years now and the two have done a lot together even creating two shows together, one called "Cash Pad" on CNBC, and another called "Battle of the Fittest Couples" on the paramount network.

In "Cash Pad" Jojo used her job as a Real estate developer and the help of her fiance to flip some houses for couples who want to turn their properties into profitable, short-term vacation rentals. The other show was a competition show between 12 athletic couples to compete for a100,000 dollar prize and the title of "Fittest Couple."

The couple also was planning to get married in June 2020 but postponed twice the past year two years due to COVID-19. However, the couple is hoping to officially tie the knot in May 2022.

14Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James

Matt James, who was a friend of runner-up Tyler Cameron on Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette," was chosen to be the bachelor as he seemed like a perfect fit for the show. On his season he met Rachael Kirkconnell who he fell for fast and in the end, he didn't end up proposing but instead gave her the final rose and professed his love to her.

However, after the season aired things changed when allegations surfaced regarding Kirkconnell’s social media and her racially insensitive behavior in the past. The photos on her social media included Kirkconnell attending an antebellum-themed party in college and dressing as a Native American for Halloween. Kirkconnell publicly apologized for her past behavior, which caused her and Matt to break up in February 2021. The scandal also got long-time "Bachelor" franchise host, Chris Harrison, in trouble for defending Rachael's behavior which forced him to step down from his role as host. However, a couple of months later in May 2021, James was willing to give it another go after Kirkconnell had given him an ultimatum.

“She was like, ‘If you’re going to make this work, let’s do it. But, if you’re not going to make it work, I’m going to let you do your own thing,” said James on a podcast called “Pomp."
