Last week, Snapchat released its new update with a brand new astrology feature. You can now view a more detailed astrological profile by clicking on the purple horoscope icon in your Snapchat profiles.
Your Snapchat astrological profile includes personality explanations and analyses of your sun, moon, and rising signs, as well as your astrological positions in Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
Snapchat's feature also allows you to compare your natal charts with others and see if the two of you have any compatibility with your charts. You can go to a friend's profile and either view their natal chart or view your compatibility with them.
This kind of astrology chart is also known as your natal chart which is a road map that explains who you are as a person based on the day you were born, and why and what you’re meant to be.
The Snapchat natal chart makes it easy to read and understand astrology on a beginner level.
How to find your birth chart
To start first make sure your phone has the latest version of Snapchat so you’re able to use the feature.
1. Open Snapchat and click on your Bitmoji head on the upper left.
This gets you to your Snapchat profile.
2. Click on the purple highlighted zodiac sign next to your snap score.
If you don’t have this, it’s most likely you didn’t add your birthday to Snapchat. If so just go to settings in your profile on the top right and add your birthday.
3. You’ll be prompted to create an astrological profile
Click the continue button at the bottom.
4. Add your birth information and complete the profile
You’ll need to add your birthday, time of birth, and place of birth to complete.
On Snapchat, if you made a mistake entering the time of your birthday, go to settings, birthday, and then my astrological birthday.
Your birth time display on Snapchat might say that it’s an hour ahead of when you are inputting your birth time, but don’t mind it, make sure whatever you input is the correct time.
After doing all that, you’ll be able to view your profile starting with your sun sign.
To read more about each element in your chart you can click the ‘Read More’ tab at the bottom. To scroll through your whole profile you swipe to the left.
At the end of your profile, there’s a little chart detailing how you are as a person and tallies up your Elements, Modality, and Polarity in your natal chart.
Elements, modality, and polarity meanings in your birth chart
These are three important aspects that make up who you are, according to astrology.
Elements
The Elements bar chart in your natal chart tally up the four different zodiac sign elements, fire, earth, water, and air, that are featured in your profile.
Modality
The Modality bar chart represents the groupings of your signs in your natal chart that are either Cardinal, Fixed, or Mutable.
Modality is all about how you take in your external environment, internally process it, and what you decide to do with it in your life.
Polarity
The Polarity bar chart describes if you are more yin or yang. In astrology, there are positive and negative signs, neither is good or bad, they just have different charges.
The yang, or positive polarities, are fire and air signs including Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.
The yin, or negative polarities, are water and earth signs including Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces.
How do you compare Snapchat astrology charts with friends?
Probably the coolest feature of the Snapchat astrology chart is being able to easily compare yours with your Snapchat friends.
1. Go to your messages and click on your friends Bitmoji head
This takes you to their Snapchat profile.
2. Click on their purple highlighted star sign next to their snap score.
If they don’t have this like you, then you can’t see their natal chart or compare the two of your charts.
3. Click on View Astrological compatibility
After clicking on that, it calculates the compatibility of both of your natal charts. Just the same as your natal chart, you can scroll through by swiping to the left to see more, and click on the ‘Read More’ for more information.
What do the five aspects of compatibility mean?
The compatibility data will show you the relationship of both of your planets and zodiac signs and will determine what the relationship of each is from the five compatibility aspects of attraction, Intensity, Tension, Support, and Harmony.
The last slide of your Astrological compatibility is the breakdown of your compatibility with your friend's planetary aspects and three bar charts explaining which of the seven different aspects do you have in common overall, and a bar chart of the strongest aspect percentage and then the weakest aspect percentage.
What are your planetary aspects?
In Astrology, the distance between any two planets and zodiac signs are what’s called a planet aspect. Aspects describe the relationship between the planet's angles that they form on the wheel of the zodiac as they move through space.
There are seven different major aspects that all have a different angle and meaning, those include Conjunct (same sign), Semisextile (1 sign apart), Sextile (2 signs apart), Square (3 signs apart), Trine (4 signs apart), Quincunx (5 signs apart), Opposite (6 signs apart).
