What The Zodiac Signs Are Most Cynical About

getty Everyone can be cynical sometimes — it’s just part of being human. And since astrology can influence our personalities, it can also pinpoint the cynical zodiac signs, as well as why they tend to think this way.
Cynicism is the inclination to be distrustful of something, especially the motives of others. People tend to see each other as selfish, and when they do something that seems generous, we ask what’s in it for them. We don’t buy that someone would do something without wanting anything in return.
If someone is too cynical, it can be hard for them to see the magic that life brings. Cynicism is also a way to protect oneself from getting hurt. But, whether they believe it or not, other people do kind things without an expectation of any kind. The best thing you can do is accept it and try to pass on that kindness.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries individuals are most cynical about people who claim to be straightforward and honest, and then take a while to get to the point. If you're going to claim to be direct, don't take a long and winding path to the truth.
If someone says things like, "The truth is..." or "Honestly..." then Aries will think everything that comes out of their mouth is probably a lie.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taureans are very cynical about people who brag too much. If you have to tell everyone how great you are, you probably aren't great at all.
Taurus will doubt you've done anything notable, and even if you have done something admirable, if you need to keep bringing it up, it's most likely the last amazing thing you'll ever do. Anyone who fishes for compliments is annoying to this zodiac sign.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis are cynical about social media humblebrags. It's great that your life is so perfect, but why the need to share every achievement or dazzling detail with the world?
Gemini knows your page is carefully curated and, as an influencer, you're paid to talk about all the fabulous places you've been. But they wouldn't be so cynical if people would at least balance out their bragging with realness.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer always wants to know what the catch is. Why are you taking them out to dinner? Why did you give them those free Hamilton tickets? What do you want in return?
There are no free lunches in Cancer's world and they'd rather know what you want in return before they accept any kind of gift. Is it cynical? Yes, but it's also a way of not getting hurt when they least expect it.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos are cynical that anybody can have it all. It's an impossible goal, especially if you want to do everything well. Whatever Leo does, they give it everything they've got, and sometimes they have nothing left to give.
Believing one can have it all only leads to disappointment and feelings of failure. It's good to be ambitious and want to accomplish major achievements, just be prepared to pay a price.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos are cynical about other people's truths. If Virgo can't find anything to back up someone's ideas or beliefs, they become cynical about it.
It's not that they don't have faith, they just have to arrive at certain beliefs in their own way; they can't just take someone's word on it. Virgos are extremely intelligent, meticulous, and analytical, and it's not easy to con them.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras will be cynical about people's excuses for why they're late or why they flaked. For instance, if Libra is meeting a friend for dinner and the friend is over 30 minutes late, Libra will question why their friend didn't leave earlier or was there a different reason they're not saying.
Libras tend not to buy lame excuses, but they probably won't make a big deal about it.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios can be secretive and it's not easy for them to trust people. Their suspicious natures feed their cynicism so they're almost waiting for betrayal.
They would say they have a realistic view of the world and are nobody's fool. It's better to be happily surprised to find out that someone is trustworthy than it is to be duped and lied to.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarians tend to have a very strong sense of what's right and wrong; however, they're not convinced that other people do too. Sagittarians sometimes think other people have lost their moral compass and are doing things impulsively without giving any thought to how their actions will affect others.
They are confident they know exactly what they're doing and their motivations for doing it, they're just not sure about others.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns can be cynical about believing that other people know what they're doing without Capricorn's guidance. Do they over-explain, helicopter parent, or micro-manage sometimes? Sure, but that's because they're good at what they do, and they know exactly what needs to be done.
Capricorns can't let go of being in charge and trusting that people will do what they're supposed to without this zodiac sign being right there.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarians are extremely knowledgeable, and they can be cynical about whether anybody is more creative, innovative, or smarter than they are. They are usually the smartest person in the room and don't like it when their position is questioned.
There's no middle road for Aquarius — they're either the best, or they're not going to engage in the competition. It's not emotional at all for them, and they're able to remain calm while defending their position.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces tend to be cynical when someone flirts with them, gives them too many compliments, or does something nice without wanting anything in return. They want to believe there are no ulterior motives, but they've been taken advantage of before for being too trusting.
Pisces don't want to get played again. They are skeptical that someone could be entirely unselfish, even though they themselves are the epitome of unselfishness.
