First, here’s a bit of mythology. Venus is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite.
However, Venus was given much more power. Along with love, sex and beauty, she was also a goddess of victory, fertility, and even prostitution.
Following the same origin story as Aphrodite, Venus was born from the foam of the sea after Saturn castrated Uranus and his blood fell into the sea.
This is why you’ll commonly see Venus portrayed as a woman standing in a clam.
In a more modern application, Venus is also the mother of Cupids. That’s right, there’s more than one, at least in Roman mythology.
They represented the different aspects of love. In Greek, what we call Cupid would actually be Eros, the son of Aphrodite.
And traditionally, it’s actually the depiction of Eros that we normally see when there’s an image of Cupid.
So we know Venus is love and we know planets move. In an astrological sense, this means planets moving into different houses.
Just like there are 12 zodiacs, there are 12 houses, and they line up in the same order.
Right now, we’re going to look at what it means for Venus to be in the third house, which is the house of communication and ruled by Gemini.
