getty In a world where we are taught from birth that we need to couple off with a partner eventually, we spend so much of our lives relying upon others to "complete us." Many of us have no idea how strong we really are, or how little we need the help of others.
We downplay our ability to carry through with things on our own, and we take pride in how we are part of a team. And we can learn this lesson from the self-reliant zodiac signs in astrology.
Teamwork is great, and doing things together is even better, though sometimes we simply can't find others to do what we want to do.
You know those folks who refuse to go to the movies alone, or the people who cramp up with neurosis at the idea of eating alone in a restaurant? I've never related to that and have never understood how eating a meal alone can somehow turn a person into a paranoiac, yet I know many people who would rather die than eat alone.
And then, there are people like me, who firmly believe in the old adage: If you want something done, do it yourself. Oh, how true this statement is. I want something done. I don't wait for Mr. Right to show up to take my fragile female butt to dinner, to prove to the world that I'm worthy of a man's purchasing power; I take myself into the restaurant and I eat what I want. Because I am self-reliant.
1. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
You love it in groups, and you love it alone. There's not much that you don't love, Leo.
And when it comes to self-reliance, well, you'd probably prefer doing it with others, but you always end up having a great ol' time on your own. There's something very exciting to you about NOT having to thank someone for doing you a favor.
