We are completely obsessed with pop culture — it's our great escape! We've loved our celebrities and stars, our trends and fashions since way before the internet. We are both influenced and influencer.
Pop culture runs deep, and it has the power and potential to guide the zodiac signs, specifically, in our every day life. That is, if we let it.
Pop culture dictates fashion, entertainment, politics. We socialize according to the trends set before us: Will we be eating Keto today? Will we be sharing memes? Will we use a cat filter on a photo of ourselves before publishing? Will we use an iPhone or a Samsung?
Pop culture is the wave of popular opinion, and when we want to be led, pop culture will lead us wherever it goes. Some turn to pop culture for glimpses into "how the other half lives" as a way to escape the daily drudgery, forget the mundane world, and throw one's self into the magical world of the rich and famous.
Others turn to pop culture for ideas, ways to impress. What to buy, where to eat, how it's done, why it's cool and who is important. And while there are still a few cave dwellers who choose to reject pop culture, they would be hard to find. (Because they're in caves, hiding, without phones, probably wearing loincloths.)
So, with the help of astrology, who are the zodiac signs obsessed with pop culture, and why?
1. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Of course Leo is obsessed with pop culture because that's what everyone else is looking at. If people are looking, concentrating and focusing in on something, Leo wants to be a part of that attention.
Leo uses pop culture for the purpose of becoming... popular. If the world has already decided that they all, en masse, approve of some trend, then it's going to be this zodiac sign who will use that to their advantage. If a Kardashian tells them its OK, then it's OK.
Leo is also obsessed with material things and it's through knowledge of what's going on in pop culture that they find out exactly what they need to buy.
2. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus uses pop culture to build their own empire. This sign is all about making money and entrepreneurism, so they have to identify what they need to supply in order to determine the demand. This is where they turn to pop culture.
What's going on "out there" is what Taurus is going to use to make their product (whatever that may be) more attractive to a buying public. They have a great desire to be on-trend, so they learn all the lingo, all the tricks, all the terms that will take them from obscurity to notoriety.
They are thoroughly obsessed with pop culture and they never release the phone from their grasp. Even in sleep.
3. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Slaves to the call of media, Virgo needs something to do with their time, and rather than having to think on their own, they offer up their minds to top-notch pop culture avenues like Instagram or Facebook. If they can find something out there to disapprove of, all the better.
Virgo has an odd fascination with pop culture: they hate it all, and yet, they cannot possibly think of walking away. They are magnetized by the idea of watching something fail. It's more of a compulsion that an obsession: Virgo likes to watch things fall apart, and pop culture is all about "things."
4. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
That guy who sits on the toilet, continuously scrolling through his phone? That's your Gemini fanboy. He needs his fix and can't live without it. He'll take his phone into the shower with him, and because he heard it was cool, he makes sure every social media site there is sends him loud notifications.
Pop culture is his way of convincing himself that he's part of the culture, and he gets to feel good about himself simply because he now feels connected. It's the connection to the world that enlivens Gemini. It takes the pain of actually socializing out of the picture.
Gemini never has to leave the pooper — they can eliminate and watch the latest pop culture smackdown all at the same time!
5. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Being that Aries is more than likely the person who will report the latest pop culture news, you can bet your sweet bippy that they're into it. Aries is a powerful sig,n and they are keen on the idea that if you want to succeed and truly rise to the level of super power, you have to be on trend; you have to know the playing field.
Aries isn't so much a believer in whatever cultural movement of the day exists, as they are about gathering as much information on it as possible, just in case they have to use it. They are the great debaters — they need to be informed, and pop culture is one place where they can find all the information needed to go forth in a tech-savvy, intelligent, progressive world.
6. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
One quality of Libra is their curiosity and their ability to gather information, especially if that info helps them. This people-pleasing sign takes interests in specific areas of pop culture; they don't just blindly follow, but they do stay alert for the changes.
They are fiercely opinionated and reject certain trends automatically; however, watching trends is particularly appealing to Libra. They want to be liked, so they pay attention to what people like out there, and act accordingly. Libra is obsessed with pop culture so they can use whatever information is available to them for the purpose of getting others to like them.
