getty Life is definitely a game of survival, and how we survive is not always dependent upon how truthful, good, or brave we are. Sometimes it's about how we manipulate the world around us for the purpose of continuing on with our lives.
In other words, sometimes we lie to get what we want, and if we're really to accomplish this, we need to actually believe the concocted fib we've just told ourselves. Lying exists so we can survive; if we weren't supposed to lie, then why are we so good at it?
In astrology, who are the zodiac signs who believe their own lies?
I just read an article about how narcissists "future lie" to provide the idea of a future to the person they are lying to. "We'll get married someday..." is a typical lie put out to keep the hopes up of the person who wants to be married. A future means security, and to lie about a future is a serious, manipulative lie.
However, to get that lie to stand up and be believed, you'd have to believe it yourself. When you believe your own lie, you are on your way to becoming a manipulative, controlling narcissist.
1. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries believes their own lies so much that they can't tell the difference between the lies and the truth. This is the sign that never says, "I'm sorry." This is the sign that never, ever takes responsibility for causing pain.
It's always your fault, according to Aries. And if they need to build a case completely made of lies and fake news, they will, and they'll go whole hog to defend it. They do not, however, defend their own lies because they believe what they've convinced themselves of is the truth.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is another of the zodiac signs that finds it hard to communicate their feelings, and so, in their attempt to let people know what's on their mind, they often find themselves building a reality that doesn't exist. In other words, Virgo lies to the public about being happy, about being secure, in love.
They seem to really enjoy showing off how great their lives are, to the point where their constant display of wonderfulness starts to look like a fabricated spin on ultimate sadness. Virgo lies about how fantastic their life is so that no one ever knows the truth. They don't just believe their own lies, they need to.
3. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
When you're an Aquarius, your life is only truly good when you lie to yourself about how good it is. Because it's not that good — not for you. You're a grouchy, angry person who feels you've been slighted and cheated out of everything that's good. You lie to yourself, your friends and your loved ones, and you take those lies all the way. If someone gets hurt, no biggie.
There are always new, improved versions of lies to subdue them. When you hate the world as much as you do, Aquarius, you have to lie to yourself about everything, especially the things that matter to you, like whether or not you can steal a friend's spouse or not. You justify all your lies because you believe them, fervently.
4. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
It would be impossible to write a blog on liars without mentioning the ultimate liar of the zodiac: Libra. Where this is about those who believe their own lies, I'd have to say that Libra never believes their own lies, but they want to believe, even for a moment, because they know they will be much greater manipulators if they believe their own lies as they dole them out.
Libra lies to make a life for themselves. Their very lives depend on it, so the art of lying is truly an art for them. They want to believe, because if they do, you will, and that's what's important.
5. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn constructs lies as a way of controlling others for the purpose of getting what they want and need, and, believe it or not, this isn't always a bad thing. Capricorn needs order; they need to believe everything is going to work out — in business, in love, in health, in life.
They will lie to themselves about the outcome of a situation in order to remain hopeful. Capricorn is a very hope-filled sign, and one that will completely buy their own lies in order to feel good about an unknown future.
6. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Geminis lie, and it's unfortunate because they don't really do it to be deceitful or duplicitous; they do it because they can't communicate. They can't say what they mean because they get tongue-tied and that inhibits them from saying just about anything.
If they can't explain their truth to a person, they lie just to get it over with. Gemini has no patience for anything, and if lying gets them away from you, they'll lie and lie again. Because the truth of Gemini is, they hate you and lying is the only way they can get away from you easily.
