6 Most Defensive Zodiac Signs

getty There are two things you don't tell a person, ever-ever-ever, and those things are, "Calm down," and, "You're so defensive!" Nope. There's something about being told that one is too defensive that falls close to gaslighting.
We tell people they are "too" defensive when we want to invalidate the purpose for their defense. "You're too defensive" secretly means, "I'm attacking you and you're not just taking it."
Add astrology to the mix, and you're bound to have multiple defensive zodiac signs. Some of us are too defensive. That might come from a life-long history of being attacked. We've learned to protect ourselves from the onslaught of others, yet we've come to anticipate more attacks even when there is no sign of danger ahead. That, is "too" defensive. When we defend ourselves in situations that are safe and sound.
When a person comes from a background of abuse, whether physical, emotional or verbal, it sets one up for a lifetime of anticipating more of the same. Sometimes we're defensive for no reason at all, simply because defending everything we've got has been challenged one too many times.
1. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries is defending their turf way ahead of time. They do not trust others, and they have good right to feel that way. Being an Aries gets them into battle after battle, and that feeds the Aries ego; however, it still doesn't exactly feel good to be defensive.
Aries naturally assumes they are going to get screwed, so in defense of what's theirs, they will screw you first. Circle of life, eh?
2. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras are collectors. They collect things, lovers, people, trash, pets. Tthis is what makes them happy, their collections. What pushes their buttons big time is when someone crap-talks their collections.
You can't criticize a Libra, not unless you want to get into a bar brawl over which Dungeons and Dragons character is superior. Libra will defend all and everything they own, while throwing all and everything else under the bus, whenever they please. Defensive? Yes, it's what they do best.
3. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Just keep in mind, Taurus may be defensive, but if it's you they are defending themselves from, you're good as dead. Taurus is defensive and they are tough as nails.
They don't care if you think they're paranoid or over the top; if they've decided you've rubbed them the wrong way, it's over for you. You'll never get to explain yourself and you will forever be on their s*** list.
4. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini does tend to feel attacked, whether they are or not, and that's part of what gives them that ornery look in the eye. It's as if they are just waiting around for someone to disagree with them, just so they can feel justified in their hateful defensiveness.
Gemini wants you to know that you can't abuse them, no matter what, and in doing so, they make sure they isolate as much as possible. You'll end up not wanting to be friends with a Gemini, as they really are hard asses with little patience and a whole lot of defensiveness.
5. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is very dedicated to what they love, whether it's people, pets, religion or country. They love hard, but they also own hard, and that means that you don't have a part in their world. And should you even try to be friendly with them, they naturally assume you are there to ruin everything for them.
Virgo is defensive and rude. So, it's not just about defending their turf, it's about defending it with machine guns and foul mouth. Virgo owns it, you don't. That's final.
6. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
When Cancer gets defensive, they become cold, hard and completely unforgiving. Remember this: Cancer does not forgive. They hold on to every single bit of pain they have, and they recall that pain when they come into contact with a new person.
You are guilty until proven innocent with Cancer, and it's automatically assumed that you're going to try and get over on them in their minds. so with that knowledge, they make sure you suffer before they get to. They are defensive, unforgiving and stone-cold frozen.
