They're not even aware they're doing it.

We all have things about ourselves we wish we could change and insecurities we keep to ourselves. Some people internalize their insecurities, others may be completely open about them, and some may project their insecurities.
They say that the thing you dislike about someone else is really the thing you hate the most about yourself. And if we take a hard look at astrology and the personality traits set forth, there are some zodiac signs who project their insecurities onto others.
It can be difficult to face reality, especially regarding negative qualities about ourselves. No one wants to think of themselves as needy or jealous, so instead, we hand off these traits and we put them on someone else. It’s much easier to be able to stand back and say, “I don’t like this about so and so” than to admit that you don’t like it about yourself.
When you’re in a relationship with someone, it can be easier to project your insecurities on them. You might not want to come right out and say that you’re worried that you’re being too possessive, so as an alternative, you might say your partner is jealous. And it becomes their problem, not yours.
1. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers tend to be extremely emotional and imaginative. They can see betrayals and unfaithfulness when they're not there. Cancers may blame others for things they've done, rather than take responsibility for it themselves.
It's not unlike Cancer to accuse someone else of being needy when deep down they know they can be very possessive and demanding of their partners.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgos have a need to be right and are often know-it-alls. They're afraid that if they're not the smartest person in the room, others will notice their inadequacies.
They project their insecurities by testing people on their knowledge and making sure that when other people have made a mistake or said a wrong answer, everyone in the room is aware of their blunder. It's not that Virgo wants people to feel stupid, they just don't want to look like they're ignorant.
3. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces are very sensitive and because they're so afraid of being hurt, they put up walls or overreact when someone does or says something they interpret as hurtful. When Pisces puts their insecurities onto someone else, it's for self-preservation.
Because of their sensitivity, they're extra vulnerable. They tend to be suspicious that every new partner is still hung up on their ex since Pisces is usually still hung up on their own exes.
4. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
It may be hard to see, but Gemini has their share of insecurities just like everybody else, and it can be difficult for them to handle them, so they tend not to. Geminis will put their insecurities away to process another day.
The problem is that those insecurities don't stay buried, and they come out as other people's doubts and self-esteem issues. Geminis have a tendency to not think they're worthy or that they deserve love, nice things, or a good life.
5. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Speaking of sensitive, here's Scorpio! This is one of the most sensitive of the zodiac signs, but you'd never know it as they tend to be great at projecting a self-confident image of themselves.
They lack the self-awareness it takes to admit to insecurities and deal with them. Instead, Scorpios tend to be suspicious and are often jealous of the things other people have.
But if they'd admit to those insecurities, Scorpio wouldn't be able to project their image of having it all together, so they just put the things they worry about themselves and put them onto other people. It's not Scorpio who's growing bored in the relationship, it's their partner.
