The Bible and astrology both have their roots in ancient teachings. Rarely will you hear an astrologer call their texts sacred or holy, but the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament are considered to be written by man through the hand of God.

The Bible is an ancient text that has remained applicable to so many lives for centuries after its creation. It's interesting to note then that Christians often say that the occult is forbidden according to the Bible, and that reading your daily horoscope, searching your natal astrological chart and studying a zodiac sign is wrong.

Which is confusing because clearly there are multiple scripture references in the Bible that uses terms that sound a lot like zodiac-speak. The first ram for sacrifice can relate to Aries as the first Sun sign in astrology. Is Aries the Ram of God?

Leo can be another way of saying the Lion of Judah. Jesus was the lamb of God, and in astrology Leo is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is the ancient representation of the essence of life. Which can make people scratch their heads and wonder if there is any symbolic connection between Jesus the son of God and Leo the Sun, per astrology.

Then there's Virgo. Virgo is the Virgin who gives birth to life, and she's also the person who oversees children, work, small pets, according to astrology. Mary was a Virgin who gave birth to the ulimatate life giver, the Christ child. Is Mary the mother of Jesus symbolized by the sign Virgo?

Good questions and one that takes a lot of time to answer. The Bible is full of theological symbolism just like astrology. Maybe the writers were versed in astrology as well as ancient scriptural teachings and used both to relay the message of God?

The bottom line is that more and more, zodiac signs are becoming a cosmic anchor for people’s daily lives. People are searching for answers to their problems and they also use astrology to cast horoscope predictions for the future.

Both the Bible and astrology help people realign themselves when they find that the world around them is throwing a few curve balls their way.

A closer look into the constellations and the stories of the Bible reveals some cross overs.

Many times we can feel like the world is spinning without our best interests at heart. When we continuously feed into bad habits, remain in toxic relationships, or look at the worst aspects of every situation, we are causing more harm to ourselves than the momentary relief that we may feel.

These kinds of feelings get bottled up and eventually overwhelm us to a breaking point. More likely than not, the easier way to live is not a more beneficial way to live. But without struggle, we would not know happiness.

Finding the moments where our astrological signs are represented in biblical texts is a great exercise in self-care and self-awareness.

We can feel more connected and closer to God when we see ourselves reflected in His stories. If you’re lucky, you may even find a chapter that references the essence of your sign and speaks to the ways God heals our hearts to happiness.

Leo, the lion, Aries, the ram, and Virgo, the virgin, all play key parts in the story of the creation of Earth and the life of Jesus Christ.

The Bible is incredibly symbolic. That is partly why it remains relevant to our modern lives.

Studying the lessons of morality, compassion, and sacrifice that are gifted to us by the first-hand accounts and retellings of Christianity’s inception can instantly deepen our connection with faith and comic righteousness.

Here are some ways that astrology, horoscope signs, and zodiac is mentioned in the Bible, and what it could relate to according to scripture.

The biblical connection lies in the magnitude of strength and power that the lion encompasses. Leo in the Bible is the King of all Kings, Jesus Christ.

He has returned to this Earth as a gift from God and is set to cast out the evil serpent, Satan. Just as the lion is the King of the Jungle, Jesus is the Almighty King of All.

The Book of Revelation mentions Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah whose purpose is to be seated at the right hand of the Father and save us from the damnation of our sins.

The chapter is written by John during his tie of Exile to the island of Patmos. He undergoes the revelation of God’s power and the sacrifices we all must make to be seen as worthy in His heart.

In astrology, Leo is ruled by the Sun, which is a personal planet. It's what others know you by and what you do in the world as a career, or the first impression you make when you meet others.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

Hebrew: Rām, “the ram”

Bible references: Genesis 22; Ezekial 21; Psalms 91

Aries is represented by a ram. The most recognizable use of this symbol is in Jesus, himself. He is the “Lamb of God.” And he has come to take away the sins of the world. The Old Testament was where humans were told that sin needed to be paid for through sacrifice.

God expected a sacrifice to be made in exchange for the forgiveness of human sin. This was often presented as a first born lamb. The first time the exchange of a human sacrifice to a ram is found in the story of Abraham the patriarch of Islam, Judaism and Christianity.

God tested Abraham’s devotion by telling him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Abraham accepted the command and took Isaac to an altar to be slain.

As he was about to kill Isaac, God told him, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now, I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me” (Genesis 22:12). Suddenly, a ram was found caught in a thicket to take Isaac’s place in sacrifice.

This story is a symbol of the sacrifice celebrated on Easter when Christ died on a cross. The symbol of the first ram with Abraham is connected with the last ram, the lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world through is purity and innocence.
