Is it really possible for a human being to become emotionally empty? We've seen people go cold; we've seen them shut down, but we've always assumed that the shut down is a result of some kind of emotional overload that resulted in a total breakdown, and not just the workings of astrology.
That breakdown can't sustain itself for too long, so the person experiencing it must adjust that feeling just so in order to live somewhat normally. But for the unemotional zodiac signs, a positive horoscope isn't enough to bring them out from the darkness.
When we hurt, we need relief, and sometimes we need it instantly or we'll go out of our minds. One thing that people do — and mostly unconsciously — is shut down.
When we shut down, we transform ourselves into beings that feel less, because "feeling" is what hurts us. We empty ourselves out of emotion so that we can survive the pain we feel because when it gets too much, it becomes uncontrollable, and so, to take control back, we teach ourselves to become cold, empty... hollow.
Some of us are more well-equipped than others for the job of shutting down.
Here are the 6 most unemotional zodiac signs that successfully achieve their goal when they're going for emotional emptiness.
1. Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Stoic and sturdy, Capricorn will have you fooled. When they feel emotionally tested, they shut down in milliseconds, leaving those around them to think that they've been lobotomized into blithering nothingness.

Capricorn will not tolerate mental anguish, and to deal with it, they've become masters at emotional emptiness.
2. Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
They've been through a lot; the pain has been great, and they've learned a thing or two about dealing with it — they shut down. Aquarians can come across as emotionally dead at times, and for close friends and family, this can be unnerving.
Why are Aquarius so emotionless?
They come across as moody, but what they are really doing is self-protecting. They're not dead inside, they just need you to think that.
3. Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Naturally cold to begin with, it doesn't take much to flip the switch for Scorpio when it comes to emotional emptiness.
We tend to think of Scorpio as the sign most likely to go emotionally dead when push comes to shove, but it takes even less effort for them to go ghost than we'd imagine.

Scorpio shuts off emotion at least 20 times a day, and this, to us, reads as frozen to the core, but for them, it is a way to keep their inner world safe from potential harm.
4. Aries (March 21 - April 19)
When you're as hardheaded as an Aries can be, you are also someone who must keep up that hardheaded attitude, and in doing so, you know when to show the world that you are dead inside.
Aries are emotionally unstable to begin with, and that kind of volatility can either explode 24/7, or it can be contained and tempered via the practice of emotional emptiness.

It's a lot to maintain the "I'm always right" stance, and sometimes an Aries has to go "empty" in order to get to the next day.
5. Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus is already on edge enough and so not willing to deal with your BS that they've mentally left the arena just to get away from you. When Taurus shuts down, they do it with help — drugs, alcohol, sex, you name it.
Why are Taurus so emotionless?
Taurus is dead serious about their shut down becausee it is their way of regaining equilibrium. Should you try to reach them during their emotionally emptied out state, you will literally be banging your head against a brick wall. Good luck, sucker!
6. Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
It's hard to be a Gemini! Especially with all those wanton, crazed emotions floating around inside, which is why Gemini's "other side" usually steps in to save the day when things get too heartfelt and soft.
