6 Most Intimidating Zodiac Signs — Even Though They Don't Mean To Be

getty No matter how friendly you try to be, there are still people who are intimidated by you. It doesn't seem to matter what you do, there are those who are afraid to approach you and who label you as aloof, cold, or unapproachable.
When you're one of the intimidating zodiac signs, it prevents people from getting to know you. Despite what your horoscope says about how great you are, people assume things about you that aren’t true. When individuals aren’t comfortable coming up to you, that can be a bad thing. You might not get asked out or picked for a new project.
One of the reasons you may come off as intimidating is if you put up walls so other people don’t take advantage of you or walk all over you. You use intimidation to get the things you want, but sometimes, you can come off as too aggressive or as a bully. There has to be a healthy balance between standing up for yourself and bulldozing down someone else.
How you handle adversity is directly linked to your zodiac sign. Do you try to wait it out or do you feel compelled to do something? If you’re intimidating, it may be a result of experiences you’ve had in the past or it may be a part of your personality that was there all along.
1. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios are intimidating because they're so intense and secretive. You never know how a Scorpio is going to react, and often the reaction doesn't match the impetus. They might blow up if you tell them a white lie but be perfectly calm when you damage their car.
There are times when you may not want to approach a Scorpio because you're scared of how they might react. Sometimes it seems as if it's impossible to truly relax around a Scorpio because you have to be on guard all the time around them.
2. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus can definitely be intimidating, but especially if they think they're right about something. Once they dig their heels in, there's no convincing them otherwise or making them see reason.
No one casually approaches a bull when its nostrils are flaring, nor should you approach a stubborn or angry Taurus. They're not the type to just let something go, they're the types to fixate on a wrong until they practically blow up with rage.
3. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos can be fierce when they want to be, and that kind of ferocity can be extremely intimidating. They're passionate about what they believe in and are unwavering. People want to be like Leos — and that intimidates them.
Leos are self-confident and know who they are. Leos have an excellent sense of self, and that intimidates people who are insecure or who feel unsure of their abilities.
4. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Knowledge can be intimidating, and Virgos know everything. They can't help it but sometimes they unintentional make other people feel stupid. No one likes that, so that feeling of not wanting to feel a lack in the smarts department may put people off from talking or interacting with Virgo.
In addition, Virgos can be critical of others, and that judgmental attitude can also put people off.

5. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Since Aquarius individuals aren't the most emotional sign of the bunch, they can come off as somewhat cold and insensitive which can be intimidating. They're also very intelligent and it's easy to see that they don't have much patience for those who aren't on the same level as they are.
However, looks can be deceiving and once you break down Aquarius' walls, you'll find that they're not that intimidating at all; they're actually quite accepting and generous.
6. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Much of the time, Aries aren't that intimidating unless they are on a rant. An Aries can get very intimidating just by speaking their mind especially since they don't hold back or try to soften their words so no one gets hurt.
If Aries' words offend, they'll apologize after the fact. If they want to say something, they're not going to think about it first, they're going to spew it out and deal with the carnage afterward.
