Warning: the video is graphic.

Video footage of a 24-year-old baseball star hitting his ex-girlfriend in a stairwell recently emerged.

Though the abusive incident occurred on Aug. 2, 2016, Danry Vasquez was dropped from his Atlantic League team, the Lancaster Barnstormers, and has made it back in headlines, The Sun reports.

“There is no choice but to sever the relationship,” said the team’s manager, Ross Peeples in a Facebook post. “Neither I, nor the Barnstormers’ organisation as a whole, can condone or associate with that behaviour.”

The video posted by a Texas police department Wednesday shows Vasquez repeatedly hitting his former girlfriend, Fabiana Perez, with so much force she falls to the ground in a stairway at Whataburger Field. He is also seen dragging the victim down the stairs by her hair before leaving the scene.

The video has gone viral and Twitter has blown up with angry comments about the abuse.

“End his career. Lock him up. He doesn’t deserve any sympathy,” one user tweeted.

He was arrested in 2016 but was never charged with domestic abuse because he agreed to take anger management classes and pay a hefty fine, The Sun reports.

Perez and Vasquez continued to date for a few months after the incident until they eventually broke up.

She told Univision in a Spanish interview that she wished she had done something more about the situation but she let her love for Vasquez get the best of her.

"I watched this video and think to myself, how could I ever let this happen to me?" Perez said in the interview. "Why didn't I do anything?"

Perez went on to say that she endured a lot of fear while dating Vasquez. His attorney said he was just stressed at the time of the beating.

"I recall conversations about the extreme stress he was under and the pressures to perform that he was young,” Vasquez's attorney told TMZ Sports.  “Came to USA at a young age with no parents (accommodating him) and no guidance ... just his dreams. She never excused his behavior just loved him enough to believe they could move forward."

Their relationship eventually ended and Vasquez found a new girl whom he proposed to last November.

Vasquez covered a Venezuelan beach in rose petals and got down on one knee for his new lover. She said yes.

They have since married and although the leaked footage of his violent rage has been posted, he is trying to put the past behind him.

"I am currently married, and not with the girl with whom I had the incident," Vasquez told Elemergente.com in an interview.

He went on to explain that he knew he was wrong and has changed since then.

"I've really changed. I am doing things that have helped me change,” Vasquez said. "I have matured as a person and I know that what I did, or what was seen, is not an example. I respect, value and love my wife. She has supported me in all this and has been an unconditional person in this matter.

“I also know that those scenes were strong. As a public figure, I must set an example. Today I apologize and show that this should not be done. I know that stronger comments come and I leave everything in God's hand."
