Creepy New Details About The Mom Who Was Found Dead After She Went Missing Getting Her Kids Ready For School

A man has been arrested for her murder.

The mother who went missing last week was found dead and buried under leaves Thursday about a mile from her home and foul play is suspected.

TerriLynn St. John, 23, disappeared from her Virginia home Tuesday morning and was reported missing when her front door was wide open. Her two children, ages 2 and 3, were alone inside, FOX News reports

St. John’s father, Terry St. John, said she would “never, never, never” leave her kids alone like that.

The scene around her home showed signs of a struggle and her body was discovered covered in leaves Thursday about 20 feet from a road in Pine Top.

"The closure on this is not good closure, but it is closure," Sheriff David Bushey told reporters.

When she failed to show up for work Tuesday morning, St. John’s family was notified. Her father went to check on her at her home where he discovered she was missing and noticed signs of a struggle.

Family members were concerned when they found St. John’s children abandoned in their house and saw her van was still in the driveway.

"They looked through the woods and you could definitely tell there has been a struggle beside my daughter's car," Terry told WTVR. "Jewelry was all around, like it had been broken off. Her cell phone was found in the bushes."

St. John lived with her boyfriend, Mac Kennard, who told the Sun Sentinel he last saw her when he kissed her goodbye before heading to work at 4:20 Tuesday morning. He held a photo of his slain girlfriend as he cried, “She was my best friend.”

"Detectives have now switched their gears in this case from a missing persons report of suspicious nature to a homicide," Sampson said.

Investigators were led to a 23-year-old man after a post on social media regarding St. John was discovered.

"We used cyber information to get what we had to do to get this job completed,” Bushey said before thanking the public for coming forward with any information they had.

Alvin Keyser, 23, was arrested and charged with murder and concealing a body after he showed police where St. John’s body was hidden, FOX News reports. The Middlesex Sheriff’s office said it expects more charges to be added later on.

He admitted to strangling St. John to death after pushing her out of a van and hitting her repeatedly, according to WTVR.

Keyser stated to detectives he confronted St. John at her residence about statements that were made about Keyser. Keyser stated that St. John struck him, and he struck her back he then pushed her out of the van Keyser was driving,” Sampson said in a statement.

The suspected murderer also told police that the belongings found at the crime scene were his.

“Keyser then stated he loaded her in the van and put her body in the woods down from her residence,” Sampson said.

Keyser is being held at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for the first time on March 5.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for St. John’s children and her funeral expenses.
