New Evidence Released In The Kidnapping Of California Mom Sherri Papini Who Was Branded And Tortured By Two Women

Police also released a sketch of her kidnapper.

New information about the California mom who was kidnapped last November after she was kidnapped while jogging, brutally attacked and found barely alive on the side of road weeks later.

Though they still haven't caught the suspects who abducted Sherri Papini, they did find male DNA on her that didn't match her husband. They also found female DNA on her that didn't match Papini.

But the DNA didn't match anyone in the FBI's database.

Since her abduction, Papini has been adamant that two women kidnapped her and never said any men were involved.

Detectives also found text messages sent back and forth between Papini and an unnamed man in Detroit about plans to meet up when he was in California. After being questioned by police, the man insisted he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

Papini corroborated the story, and both her and her husband, Keith Papini, passed a lie detector test.

Last November, the victim told police that one older woman and one younger woman took her while she was out jogging. She said the women wore bandanas over their mouths and covered her head with a bag for most of the time she was captive.

She said they physically abused her before pusher her out of their car and leaving her along the side of an interstate on Thanksgiving Day. Papini had a hose tied around her hands and ankles and a metal chain.

Her hair was cut short and she had a "branding" on her shoulder along with broken nose and numerous cuts and bruises.

Police released sketches of the suspects. They're described as Hispanic, with the younger suspect between 20 to 30 years old, 5’5″ with a medium build, pierced ears, and coarse, curly black hair.

The older suspect is between 40 to 50 years old, 5’7″ with a large build, straight and longs black hair with a little gray in it, pierced ears and thick eyebrows.

“Once the sketches were finalized, detectives and investigators reviewed the sketches and compared the sketches with known witnesses or contacts identified during the investigation to see if the sketches matched any known parties. No matches were made with case file information,” Sgt. Brian Jackson said.

Papini also told police she heard a gunshot before the suspects pushed her out of the car, but didn't know who pulled the trigger and if anyone was injured.

Detectives said they consider her case a possible human sex trafficking incident. Anyone with any information should contact the Sacramento FBI office at 916-746-7000. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identities of the suspects.
