The attack, which happened in March, left the woman with some serious injuries. Reports say she had a fractured vertebra in her neck, and bruises, cuts and bite marks on her inner thighs and back.

Prosecutors told the judge how the victim ran naked to a neighbor's house for help after the alleged assault. But before she could get there, her son grabbed her and threw her back over the fence.

She was finally able to call the police when her son fell asleep inside their home. He was still sleeping when the cops arrived to arrest him.

The man allegedly told police that he couldn't remember what happened, and claimed he had "no knowledge she was injured." When he bonded out of jail, he returned to his mother's house and tried to regain entry.

Thankfully, relatives blocked him from getting back inside the home, and he's been in custody ever since. He pleaded guilty to charges of rape, felonious assault, and kidnapping, but at one point during trial attempted to change it and said he wasn't guilty.

"Not guilty. I take my plea back. I want to go to trial with this," he said. "It's all bogus and lies." After his attorney spoke with him for a few minutes, he said his client was having trouble with the idea of a long prison sentence. He'll spend 11 years in prison if convicted.

"This is a bad situation," he said. "I feel bad about the whole incident. But I don't even know what happened. I blacked out, somebody slipped me something in my drink. I don't even know what was going on. I just don't know."
