Mariah Carey Discusses Baby Rumors And Rihanna

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey

Mariah talks to Larry King about future family plans and an 'emotionally abusive' past relationship.

During her chat with Larry King on Wednesday, Mariah Carey again denied persistent rumors that she's pregnant—rumors that weren't quieted any once recent photos of the songstress in a revealing swimsuit hit the Internet.

Mariah's new, fuller (read: healthy) figure has prompted lots of baby gossip over the last couple of months, and although she has revealed that she and hubby Nick Cannon already have baby names picked out for when the time comes, Mariah acknowledged that now just isn't that time. She explained,

[Being pregnant] would be the happiest thing in my life but what I'm saying is, right now with this movie [Precious] coming out, with the next few singles from the album and those things that I'm doing, I need to focus on that because I cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway.

Until the family arrives, Mariah is enjoying her alone time with Nick. And we're glad that Mariah is in a healthy relationship now, especially since she also divulged to Larry King that she's experienced the opposite. When asked for her reaction to Rihanna's abuse story, Mariah replied that "abuse has several categories," and admitted to suffering emotional and mental abuse:

Well, it's scary. You know, I just think you get into a situation, and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on. For me, to really get out it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.

While it was nice of Mariah to not name names, it's not too hard to figure out that she was talking about ex-husband Tommy Mottola. Marrying Mr. Wrong
