The lunar nodes in your birth chart, known as the South Node and North node, reveal your life's purpose.

The lunar nodes aren't planets. Instead, they're placed at the points where the moon's orbit crossed the Sun's path as seen from the earth at the time of your birth.

In your natal chart, your lunar nodes sit directly opposite of each other. While the North Node determines your destiny, the South Node depicts your past lives.

Your South Node is an inherited part of your soul that now describes who you are.

The signs your lunar nodes are in reveal the traits you should strive to obtain and lessons you're destined to learn in this life (the North Node) as well as the challenges you faced in past lives and the traits you used to overcome them (the South Node).

The South Node is somewhat like your comfort zone. While your North Node will provide clues on the life path that will lead you to happiness, the South Node includes your natural gifts that, when tapped into, can propel you forward towards that new life path.

It will be easy to settle into your South Node traits as they're what you intuitively know. However, it's the North Node that you should ultimately aspire to.

What Is My South Node?

To find your South Node, use a birth chart calculator to complete your natal chart. To do this, you'll need to enter your birthplace and time.

The lunar nodes change signs every 18 months.
