The moon goes through eight phases including New Moon, First Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Balsamic Moon.

New Moon

The New Moon is the first phase of the lunar cycle and one that's synonymous with introspection and fresh starts.

Those born during the New Moon are adventurous and open to trying new things. They're thoughtful and have a strong intuition. 

If you were born during the New Moon, you can sometimes come off as a know-it-all. You have big opinions and you make sure everyone around you always knows them. You’re passionate, sometimes to a fault. If someone disagrees with you, you shun them because you believe them to be wrong, and in your mind, being wrong is just not okay.

If you were born during the New Moon, it’s beyond ‘your way, or the highway.’ For you, it’s more like, ‘your way, or get out of your sight.'

First Crescent Moon

The First Crescent Moon is the "planting seeds" phase of the lunar cycle and is associated with growth.

If you were born during this phase, you're optimistic and productive. While you're open to adventure and trying new things, you're less spontaneous than those born under the New Moon. You like to take your time and plan before acting.

You also have trouble admitting when you're wrong. You’re obsessed with being right, and even when you know you might not be, you find a way to prove you are.

First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon is a time of action.

Those born under the First Quarter Moon may find that they're always looking for ways to prove themselves. You have a lot of potential and are strong-willed.

However, you also have the tendency to be a control freak. You need to be in charge of everything or you’re not happy. You have a hard time trusting people to get things done right.

Waxing Gibbous Moon

The Waxing Gibbous Moon is almost completely full, and those born during this phase tend to have high self-awareness.

The Full Moon is big, bright, and empowering.

You think you’re helping them, but really you’re only making them question whether or not they’re good enough as they are. Differences are what make the world great and forcing people to conform does damage. Sometimes, people need to find their own way, and you should let them.

Third Quarter Moon

The Third Quarter Moon is a turning point as loose ends start resolving themselves and business is finished up.

As such, those born during this moon phase are fiercely loyal and independent and might have a hard time letting go of the past.

On the downside, sometimes your independence comes off as selfishness.

Waning Crescent Moon

The last phase of the lunar cycle, the Waning Crescent Moon, also know as the Balsamic Moon or Dark Moon, is a time of reflection.

If you were born during the Balsamic Moon, you have a very unique perspective on life and others see you as wise and successful.

However, you tend to be withdrawn.  You go through life seeking answers, and once you get what you’ve wanted from a specific person, you cut that person from your life, because to you, they have already served their purpose.
