They can be a tad too needy at times.

Since ESFJ personality types love being around others, they also feel better when they are getting approval from others. They rely on other people to praise them and build them up when they are feeling insecure or uncertain.

They often need validation from others and this is especially true when it comes to their relationships.

They want to have a partner that is their biggest supporter and give them the encouragement they need. They want a partner that values them and gives them reassurance.

However, this can come off needy because they sometimes fish for compliments.

They are sometimes too concerned about their social status.

ESFJs tend to be particularly well-liked but they often want other people to like them. They can be a bit of a people-pleaser and care too much about how others view them.

This also goes for the person they are in a relationship with because they want others to like their partner as well.

They can be a little judgemental of their partner too because of how much they value their social status. For example, if they don’t like their significant other's outfit, they may make them change before going out to meet up with friends.

They simply just put too much weight on how they will come off and it can cause them to be less open-minded and more critical.

They can be pushy with their opinions.

ESFJs love to share their ideas and opinions about things.

However, they sometimes cross the line between sharing their beliefs and pushing them onto others.

They love to debate and speak with others but sometimes take conversations too far when they want others to see things from their point of view. However, they often are just getting carried away and don’t do this on purpose or even realize they are being pushy.

They simply have a knack for seeing things from many different perspectives and expect others to do the same thing.

They don’t like to be criticized.

Since ESFJs value other people's opinions, they can take criticism too personally.

If their partner points out their flaws, bad habits, or beliefs then they could get defensive about it.

Their feelings can get very hurt when their faults are being pointed out and they will internalize it. They can sometimes feel very attacked when they are being criticized so it is best to give them advice in a kind way.

If their partner wants to give them advice, it is best to tell them how they can improve instead of only telling them what they are doing wrong.
