Everything is about them.

Taking something personally means you interpret someone else's actions or words as an attack against you. You assume other people’s actions are about you, and get offended or upset. When you take things personally, you cause yourself anxiety and stress when it isn't necessary.
There are certain personality traits that lend themselves to this kind of behavior. It can be a combination of insecurity and ego, which isn’t an easy alliance. It’s self-centeredness and being sensitive to any kind of perceived injustice.
Whether or not you believe in astrology, it makes sense that the zodiac signs who take things personally aren't indifferent and care desperately about what other people do. People take things personally in varying degrees — they may take everything as a perceived slight, or only select things.
1. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
One of the reasons Taurus take things personally is that they're often trying to prove their self-worth to themselves and others. They may appear confident and self-assured, but there's a part of them that doubts it.
When something happens and they're not given the praise they think they deserve, or they're left out in some way, they take it personally. Everything that happens has, in some degree, something to do with Taurus.
2. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
One of the signs Scorpio is taking things personally is when they get judgmental. You can tell this is happening if you notice all their comments on social media are supercritical.
Judging someone for how they live their lives is not a positive or helpful thing to do. If you're feeling strong negative emotions about other people and their behaviors that have nothing to do with you, that's taking things personally.
3. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras can sometimes be controlling and get too attached to what other people are doing. For example, if a Libra is on a trip with friends and the friends don't want to do the same things as Libra, this zodiac sign may try to manipulate them into doing what they are interested in. If they refuse, Libra might get upset.
They sometimes fail to realize that we have no control over other people, no matter how close we may be to them. If someone fails to do something you wanted them to do, you can't see it as an attack against you.
4. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces feel a lot of guilt, and feeling guilty is a sign of taking things personally. Feeling guilty for things you have no control over is a huge indicator of thinking on some level that you have power over everything, including things that are uncontrollable and unexpected.
One could feel responsible and guilty, but that won't change the fact that no human has this kind of control or power. Things are going to happen, and no one can stop them.
5. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers are very caring, but sometimes that caring is misdirected. You can't prevent someone from feeling pain or making mistakes, even if that's exactly what Cancer wants to do. People are going to cry and feel sad, and it has nothing to do with Cancer; it's not their responsibility to make everybody feel better.
They can be supportive, a good listener, and let the person going through a hard time know they're there for them. But they can't take on the burden for them.
6. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
When something goes wrong, Capricorn assumes it's their fault, especially at work. If someone is promoted over Capricorn, they take it personally, even if the person was at the company longer or had more experience.
Capricorns will actively do things that will get them praise, approval, and attention. Sometimes doing something extra doesn't get you noticed, and you have to find satisfaction in doing the job well.
