6 Zodiac Signs Who Are Honest — But Mean

getty We're all such honesty freaks. We want to be told the truth, we want the unvarnished reality, and we hate when we're lied to.
It's all good until we come in contact with someone who really can deliver the goods, truth-style. Then, we have to deal with the fact that we've just been told something we may not like, simply because that person had the nerve-courage-honesty to tell us that truth, which is what we asked for.
But there's always a line, and sometimes, honesty can be skewed to rudeness and cruelty. Especially considering astrology, the honest zodiac signs can also become the mean zodiac signs. And that's where the trouble starts.
A friend once told me that after she divorced her husband, all her friends came to her and said they always had a bad feeling about the guy, that he seemed to be such a creep. So, my friend asked them why had they not mentioned it long ago if they cared about her.
The reason is because people don't like telling truths like that — not if the truth could hurt someone. So, many times we see the truth and we withhold it, in order to spare someone's feelings.
If the truth does come out and is spoken aloud, it's resented and thought to be a mean act, rather than an act of saving grace. Here's the thing though: some of us can deliver the truth in a kind hearted and caring way and that's the stuff that goes appreciated. Discretion and compassion do the trick.
But what about those folks who not only tell us the truth, but seem to get off on how badly that truth might hit us? Some people are seriously mean when they're honest.
1. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Oh you'll get truth, alright. Ask a Taurus what's good and they'll plow straight into what's good, bad and in between... if you ask.
Taurus doesn't believe in lies, but they also don't believe in graceful approaches (see: bull in china shop). Taurus will give you what you need to hear, even if it leaves you in tears.
2. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Possibly the meanest sign of the zodiac, Gemini takes a very, very long time to tell you the truth; however, if they can break out of their silent shell of mystery and obnoxiousness for one or two seconds, they'll just tell you what they think.
And there is no doubt that what they say will not only hurt you, it will be meant to hurt you.
3. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius will tell you the truth, even when you don't want to hear it. While they're not intentionally mean about it, they are intentionally honest.
In the Sagittarian's mind, they're doing you a favor, cutting through the BS, showing you the light. You, on the other hand, may not take it that way as you walk away thinking, "Man, that was really mean!"
4. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Never one to hold back, Virgo will be honest, but mean, and if you don't like what they say, they'll get meaner and meaner until you just shut up and accept it. Virgos aren't into mincing words; you either are or you aren't, and if you aren't, they'll tell you point blank.
5. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn is right on top of the truth, and they don't believe it should be softened, altered or made nice for the sake of someone's feelings. It's a refreshing approach, though it's mean and confrontative.
The truth is, Capricorn doesn't have time for beating around the bush. You want the real, unadulterated, cold, hard truth? Go to a Capricorn; they'll let you have it.
6. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
We, who have been dealt the blow of truth by an Aries, know better than to ever ask for an honest opinion again. Unless, of course, we are masochists.
Aries, you believe in truth. Rarely do you lie, but wow, when you decide to let someone know what's really going on, you don't hold back, even if it means you'll cause another emotional damage.
