Some people love to be a fan of the underdog.

Other people only want to be associated with the winner so they choose teams who take their sport to the championship and all the way to getting a Super bowl ring.

This is for anyone out there who has wanted to start watching football but doesn’t know where to begin.

It’s hard to just sit down and start watching a sport, when you don’t know who to root for.

This list will help you understand what team you may be more inclined to naturally root for based on your zodiac sign.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

With your love of winning and competition, Aries will LOVE rooting for the CAROLINA PANTHERS. Cam Newton is so mobile and dynamic, and fun to watch on the field. The Panthers selected him first pick overall in the 2011 Draft.

He currently holds the record for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in the Superbowl era.

He and Christian McCaffery are a perfect pair as McCaffery holds the NFL record for most catches by a running back in a single season.

For all you Aries out there, The Carolina Panthers are your big winner.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

For a sports fan who is looking for stability and patience, you Taurus’ should get out of your seats and cheer for the CHICAGO BEARS.

The Bears were the first team instituted into what we now know as the National Football League, all the way back in 1919.

In 2018 with the edition of outside linebacker Khalil Mack, the bears are now more powerful than ever!

He, along with 2017 edition QB Mitch Trubisky who had the third highest quarter back rating in 2018 at 87.7, will surely make the Bears the practical choice for a Taurus.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

Geminis who are tuning in to watch and expressive, quickly played game look no farther than the HOUSTON TEXANS.

The baby of the NFL, established in just 2002, the Texans have really gone out and made a name for themselves.

Their ever-changing roster and rotating coaching staff has left them adaptable to any changes that may come their way.

Averaging over 1000 catching yards a season, no one can argue that the star of the Texans is DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins can easily read and learn defenses very quickly and always finds a way to get open.  And I would be remis to talk about the Texans and not mention Defensive End JJ Watt.

As one of the most decorated Defensive players in NFL history JJ Watt has played in 5 Pro Bowls, was all 5x first team All Pro, was 3x voted The Associated Press Defensive player of the year and even won the coveted Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

The Houston Texans will keep you on your toes, but their natural talent and instinct will make them the perfect team for any Gemini Sports Fan.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Do you want a team that is going to stand by your side, and make you scream with pride? Do you want a team who will do ANYTHING to win? Then you my dear Cancer, should route for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS.

The Patriots seem to be unstoppable these days thanks largely impart to the pairing of super genius coach Bill Belichick, and no. 1 ranked Quarterback Tom Brady. The two are the winningest head coach and Quarterback duo of all time.

They have appeared in 9 Superbowls over the course of their professional relationship, winning 6! Tom Brady is currently credited as the Quarterback with the most games won by an NFL quarterback, most Superbowl MVPS, most passing yards in a single Superbowl, most Superbowl touchdowns, and the list goes on.

However, controversy surrounds these duo as more than one cheating scandal has been associated with the pair, and the entire organization. In 2007 the Patriots were disciplined for filming the New York Jets’ defensive coaching staff to learn their signals.

As recently as the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Patriots and specifically Tom Brady, were accused of deflating the footballs to make them easier to throw.

After a long legal process, the NFL decided it would be fair to suspended Tom Brady for a total of 4 games the following season, breaking the hearts of Fantasy Football team managers everywhere.

So if you’re a cancer and youre looking to get more into football, the Patriots may be a little manipulative, but they are the loyal, imaginative and successful team that you will love rooting for.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)

Leos. You want passion. You want drama. You want confidence. You want to be a winner. You want the PITTSBURG STEELERS. This season has been riddled with drama and girl, you are gonna want to tune in. The Pittsburg Steelers had not one, not two, but three star players and team leaders just two seasons ago.

Star Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, star wide receiver Antonio Brown, and star running back Le’Veon Bell. After very public contract disputes Le’Veon Bell decided to sit out last season and wait for the Steelers to come crawling back and cave into his demands.

Being a 3x Pro Bowl attendee and a fan favorite, it seemed only logical that they would. However, what no one was expecting was for back up sophomore running back James Conner to come out and perform. With over 900 rushing yards last season and 13 touchdowns, the Steelers decided that they didn’t need Le’Veon Bell anymore and traded him to the New York Jets.

Hearing this, wide receiver Antonio Brown (also of Masked Singer Fame) demanded to be traded away from the Steelers. The 7x Pro Bowl attendee and 2x NFL reception leader felt underappreciated.

The Steelers decided to oblige being that their number 2 receiver, the 2018 Pro Bowl attendee and awesomely named JuJu Smith-Shuster, was ready and waiting to take over. The two receivers are now publicly feuding on Twitter.

Drama aside LEOS, The Steelers are DYNAMIC! They have the record for most Superbowls of any team in the NFL. They have collected an arsenal of hall of fame players, most famously Terry Bradshaw and “Mean” Joe Greene. I promise you this Leos, The Steelers will not be boring. They will not go quietly into the night. They will not be stopped. Believe me Leos. The Steelers are for you.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos. I’m not gonna waste your time. You’ve got to get behind Aaron Rodgers and the GREEN BAY PACKERS. Aaron Rodgers is arguably the most skilled quarterback in the NFL. He is unarguably the most accurate. He holds the record for the best touchdown to interception ratio in the history of the sport, with 388 career touchdowns to only 80 career interceptions.

If you are new to football, this is a nuts record. The second-place winner (Russel Wilson) has 196 career touchdowns to 63 career interceptions. Rodgers is a 7x Pro Bowl attendee, 2x NFL League MVP, 1x Superbowl MVP, and the 2011 Associated Press’s Athlete of the Year.

It is so much fun watching Rodgers and his Green and Gold guild, carefully and methodically drive the ball down field. The Packers are only the second established team in the NFL and the winners of the very first Superbowl.

The absolute COOLEST thing about the Packers is that there is not a single owner of the team. In the year 1923 the Packers established what is now known as the Green Bay Packers INC. so that the team is now a publicly owned team that is run day to day by an elected Board of Directors.

Essentially the people in the small city of Green Bay Wisconsin, own the team their home town is famous for. The Pack (as they are known to their fan base) were the winners of both the first and second Superbowl’s lead by famed coach Vince Lombardi. Even if youre not a football fan, I know you have heard of Vince Lombardi.

The team is also largely immersed in the town they are stationed in. Green Bay is the smallest city to house an NFL team. At only 100,000 residents it is 10% the size of the next smallest city Buffalo, New York (home of the Buffalo Bills).

During training camp, the kids of Green Bay bring their bicycles to the field, and the players ride them into the stadium for practice. The Packers are loyal, hardworking, methodically run small town team, that will have Virgos chanting, “GO PACK GO!”

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)

Calling all Libras! When you tune into a football game, you want to see a cohesive unit working together. You want to see comradery. History. Diplomacy. You want to see the NEW YORK JETS. Established in 1960, 6 years before the first Superbowl, the Jets have been around for a while.

They started playing at what was know as the “Polo Grounds”. The Polo grounds were located in the center of Harlem and also housed the Yankees and the Mets for short stretches. They only played there for a few years before moving to Shae Stadium, which they still shared with the Mets and then finally to MetLife Stadium where they play now, along with the Giants.

The Jets just can’t stand to play by themselves! I’m sure all the Libras in the house can relate to that. The Jets have had a playoff drought, being that their last playoff appearance was in 2010. Even just last year, they only came away with 4 wins. This year however, is sure to be a great year for the Jets.

With quarterback Sam Darnold at the helm who last year, in his rookie season he ended the year with 2865 yards and 17 touchdowns, the Jets already have one foot in the right direction. But the biggest hope for the Jets is the addition of Le’Veon Bell to the team. The Pro Bowl alum promises big plays and big wins. Libras, this is the team for you.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)

If you are looking for passionate game play, aggressive offensive play calling and a hard-hitting defense, well then you are looking for the BALTIMORE RAVENS. The Ravens have a historically hard-hitting defense.

The Ravens circa 2000, also sometimes referred to as the “Ray Lewis Ravens” hold the record for the least points let up in a single season. They are often referred to as the greatest defense of all time. The Ravens are willing to do anything to win. In Superbowl XLVII in 2013,

The Ravens head coach John Harbaugh faced his own brother Jim, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, to lead the Ravens to their second Superbowl victory. So, Scorpios clap your hands and stop your feet and make as much noise as you can for the Baltimore Ravens.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)

I think one of the most energetic and exciting teams to watch this year are the KANSAS CITY CHEIFS, making them the perfect team for a Sagittarius football fan to root for. Quarterback Patrick Mahommes threw for over 5000 yards last season and 50 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions.

He was voted the MVP of the entire NFL and was voted 2019 offensive player of the year by the Associated Press. It was only his second year in the NFL! Pair him with veteran tight end Travis Kelce, who caught for 1336 yards, 103 receptions and 10 touchdowns, this team is offensively charged and sparking with energy.

The Chiefs were picked as a favorite to go to the Superbowl last season but lost in the AFC Championship game to the Patriots. Were hoping that next season brings even bigger success to this young team and gives our Sagittarius friends a reason to cheer!

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

For our Capricorn football fans looking for a winning team, I think its time for you to check out the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS. Quarterback Drew Brees has been the NFL for 18 seasons, 13 of which he played in New Orleans.

Brees is the record holder for most passing yards in the history of the sport. He is patient and calm, with a strong offensive line, which allows him a lot of time in the pocket to plan his next move. He has won a myriad of awards throughout his career, most notably Walter Payton Man of the Year and the 2009 Superbowl MVP.

He also led the Saints to their one and only Superbowl in 2010 against the Colts. The saints also rely on running back Alvin Kamara, who rushed for 883 yards last season and 14 touchdowns. All you Capricorns out there, grab your pom-poms and cheer for the New Orleans Saints.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)

Don’t get angry. The perfect team for you to root for is the CLEVLAND BROWNS. I know what youre thinking. They haven’t had a winning record since 2007, and before that it was 1994. The browns are the only team in NFL history to go completely defeated (not winning any games at all), and that season came after a year where they only won a single game.

But the Browns are Problem Solvers. In the 2018 Draft they selected with the first pick, Baker Mayfield. Mayfield threw for 3,725 yards last season and had a passer rating of 93.7. The team was lacking in leadership and I think in the next few years Mayfield is going to prove to be that leader.

The Browns also made some big moves in the off season this year, trading the New York Giants to acquire superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. This will be Beckhams 6th NFL season. He averages almost 1000 catching yards a season, and almost 10 touchdowns.

His rookie season he won offensive player of the year, and it doesn’t look like he’s slowing down. The browns are going to be a force this year and you Aquarius can get in on the ground floor.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)

Pisces, the LOS ANGELES RAMS are the team for you.  The Rams are the most mobile of all of the NFL teams. They were established in 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio. From there they moved to Los Angeles in 1946. They stayed in LA for 49 years, but moved to St. Louis in 1995, but were not done yet.

They then moved back to Los Angeles in 2016. The Rams have a hard time getting settled. However now that they are in Los Angeles, they are better than ever. Quarterback Jared Goff threw for almost 5,000 yards last season and 32 touchdowns.

Pair him with 2017 offensive player of the year Todd Gurley, who has 46 career touchdowns, and has played in 3 Pro Bowls. The Rams faced the New England Patriots in the Superbowl this year and lost 13-3. I think this is just the start for the Rams. They are only going to get bigger and better and you Pisces, will be there to see it.
