One of the most selfless things you can do is to volunteer to help others. Volunteering a great gift, and when you give something of yourself like your time and energy, it's a way to help others and create a great change.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is volunteer, and there are certain zodiac signs in astrology who love the high they get from doing so. Though the benefits of volunteering are endless, this act not only makes them feel good to make the world a better place, but it helps put things in perspective so they’re not only focused on themselves.
There are many ways to volunteer — work on a campaign, serve food at a homeless shelter, take care of homeless animals at a pet shelter, provide entertainment at a retirement home. As there are so many options, thinking about the personality traits you have can help narrow down what kind of volunteering would be best for you.
You don’t want to do something that would make you miserable and put you off of volunteering ever again. No, you need to find the kind of work that helps people, feeds your soul, and is enjoyable. No one ever said that volunteering has to be painful or a drudge!
1. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Not only is volunteering something that Aquarius feels important to do, but they make the best volunteers because of their humanitarianism, their sense of community, and their commitment. If an Aquarius offers to help in any way, you can be assured they'll be there — probably early and with a bunch of ideas on how to do things better.
They will volunteer with already established organizations and with things they start themselves, because they feel there's a need for them. Aquarians aren't limited to being the leader; they're also fine with being a member of a team.
2. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Helpfulness is one of Virgo's many qualities, and when you add that to their problem-solving-abilities, intelligence, and their need to fix whatever is broken, it's clear they're a very valuable volunteer to have.
Virgo likes to volunteer because they feel it's their duty to do their part and help people out. But their volunteerism isn't limited to humans; they also tend to work for many different kinds of organizations that benefit the environment and animals.
3. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
With Gemini's social abilities, enthusiasm, and intelligence, they make incredible volunteers. The fact that they enjoy helping make positive changes for the world, doing something for humankind, and teaching others the importance of doing their part is a bonus.
Since Geminis are so versatile, they tend to do all different kinds of volunteer work — they may be trying to raise money to build wells in Africa one weekend, and doing an AIDS Walk the next. Since they're very good at communicating, their skills are often used to get the word out on an issue.
4. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries have a ton of energy, are fantastic at multi-tasking, and care deeply. They look at volunteer work not only as something that as a citizen of the world they need to do, but they enjoy it. They are great at getting things off the ground and initiating change.
Aries are extremely caring, have a positive attitude, and are often found volunteering at suicide hotlines, after-school programs, and working for the community. They are the type of people who do a year in the Peace Corps. The perfect thing for an Aries is an opportunity that is both adventure and volunteerism.
5. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces have such big hearts that they want to help everybody, but especially those who don't have the ability to help themselves. The types of volunteerism Pisces does is cuddling newborns at the hospital, working at a hospice, or at an addiction treatment center.
Since Pisces have artistic talents, doing art therapy with kids is another type of volunteering they enjoy. A Pisces friend is the person who will volunteer to help you move or will come over when you've just been dumped.
6. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos are determined, courageous and will keep going, even when others have given up. The ideal kind of volunteerism for Leos is crisis intervention, rescue work, and volunteer firefighting. They like to be the face of an organization, and if they need to be in the front lines, they're happy to do so.
Since many Leos have a theatrical bent, they're not unlikely to volunteer to provide entertainment for a fundraiser or for the residents of a retirement home. Not only are Leos great at volunteering, they're amazing at getting other people to follow their lead.
