Know exactly how he's feeling.

Predicting what will cause men's mood swings and guessing how they'll effect aspects of his personality can be tricky business.
After all, some men are quite temperamental, while others are as placid as a pond —although there could be a lot more going on beneath that smooth surface than meets the eye.
Similarly, some men broadcast their feelings loud and clear, while others keep their emotions hidden due to characteristics like shyness, self-protection or some other motivation.
Thus, whether you know a guy's unique personality traits well or you’re just beginning to learn who he is, it can be difficult to know what his mood might be from one day to the next.
Fortunately, a great deal about his general disposition and personality traits can be determined by astrology.
Each of the twelve zodiac signs has its own set of dominant personality traits which inform the way people born under their stars expressing their full range of feelings like happiness, anger, love and insecurity.
Read on to find out about how the traits and characteristics of your boyfriend or husband’s astrological sign in order to find out how to predict his mood.
Aries (March 20th - April 19th)
Many Aries men spend much of their time in a go, go, go state of mind. They’re full of energy and ready for anything, including confrontation, if it happens to arise. If Aries has to slow down, be patient or sit still for long, he can become quite irritable; he doesn’t like being held back by circumstances or other people — or anything else, for that matter.
When an Aries man is feeling under the weather, low-energy or otherwise depleted, he can also become quite grouchy; the same is true when he feels his independence is threatened, whether by a demanding schedule or relationship, or some other factor. In those moments, it’s important to anticipate that his temper will be short. It may be worth giving him a wide berth until he’s back to his normal self.
Taurus (April 20th - May 20th)
Taurus men are generally quite easygoing and content. Naturally patient, grounded and relaxed, they prefer harmony to tension or chaos. They like to enjoy themselves and their loved ones, so they’re always in the mood for a good time, or to enjoy simple pleasures like music or an excellent meal.
Tauruses are also famous, however, for their stubborn streak, which can often express itself as a fit of temper. And it can be surprising when the Bull gets angry, since it seems to come out of nowhere — he’s ordinarily so laid-back! Furthermore, Taurus can be rather possessive when he senses that someone is threatening what is rightly his; when these feelings are stirred up, he might express them as jealousy or anger.
Thus, to predict a Taurus man’s mood, you can generally expect him to be charming and pleasant — unless something happens to make him dig his heels in.
Gemini (May 21st - June 20th)
Since Gemini is symbolized by the Twins, it’s no surprise that this sign tends to have two faces. Gemini men can be described as moody, in the sense that their feelings, needs and desires shift from moment to moment like the wind. They can also seem impatient when they feel the least bit restless or bored — which happens rather often. They might even use one face to disguise another, seeming happy and carefree on the outside when they’re actually feeling anxious or upset.
The good thing about Gemini is that this sign is naturally young at heart, so a Gemini’s mood is often playful, and he’s almost always ready for fun. But when it comes to predicting a Gemini man’s mood, the best course is to be open-minded — and don’t be surprised when he changes at a moment’s notice.
Cancer (June 21st - July 21st)
Since Cancer is known as one of the moodiest signs of the Zodiac, it’s not surprising that Cancer men can be rather difficult to read. On the one hand, the sign of the Crab is quite nurturing and emotionally intuitive, so he can be very sweet, gentle and receptive.
On the other hand, most Cancers tend to keep their feelings to themselves, protecting them rather than talking about them openly. Cancer can also be rather shy, making it even easier to bottle up his feelings. In fact, he might brood and stew until, like a tightly lidded pot set over a flame, he boils over.
The trick with the Crab is to learn to read his emotional signals. When he seems irritable or as if he’s in brooding kind of mood, do your best to coax him into opening up about what’s going on in that complicated mind of his — or gently give him his space until he’s ready to talk.
Leo (July 22nd - August 21st)
Whatever a Leo man is feeling, he’s sure to let everyone know about it. After all, Leos tend to be dramatic in their self-expression, so it isn’t usually a mystery how the Lion is feeling or what’s on his mind. Of course, Leo can be prone to temper tantrums — that’s just part of that fiery, demonstrative nature. Good thing he is often in a sunny, warm and expansive mood, ready for good times with good friends.
It’s important to remember, though, that Leo men can also feel a bit insecure from time to time — which may be surprising, considering their natural courage and self-confidence. If Leo seems needy, unhappy or uncomfortable, it’s likely that he isn’t feeling confident about your feelings toward him. Some affectionate reassurance, or even outright ego-stroking, will usually do the trick.
Virgo (August 22nd - September 21st)
It can be difficult to read a Virgo man, since he is rather reserved by nature. Shy and accustomed to holding back, especially in large groups or unfamiliar surroundings, Virgo may come across as a bit unemotional, standoffish or even critical. Thus, he can seem irritable, even when he isn’t feeling annoyed at all. He also has a very supportive, sensitive side, however, which comes out especially when he senses a loved one is in need of his help.
But it may be a rare event to catch a Virgo man in a relaxed, open and happy mood. It isn’t that he isn’t happy; it’s more that he is simply a little too quiet by nature, not to mention anxious, to express pleasure or excitement in a very spontaneous or demonstrative way. Thus, predicting a Virgo’s mood depends on paying close enough attention to read his subtle signals. It’s also important to remember that when he seems to be in a nitpicky or judgmental frame of mind, he may be feeling anxious — or he may simply be doing his best to take care of you.
Libra (September 22nd - October 22nd)
A Libra man’s moods can be deceptive, since he almost always comes across as quite pleasant and kind. And he is both of these things: Libras are charming, generous and sympathetic by nature, and they strive for peaceful, pleasurable interactions with everyone they meet. This is exactly the reason, however, that Libra will go to great lengths to hide feelings like anger, hurt or annoyance, since he believes these emotions might upset the balance of that highly prized harmony that he works so hard to maintain.
Thus, being close to a Libra man means learning to read between the lines of his words, facial expressions and body language. Since a close, harmonious partnership is a primary drive for Libra, you can rely on him to be in a good mood when your connection is strong — but if there is tension between you, his mood may not be as pleasant as it seems.
Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st)
Although Scorpio is one of the most deeply emotional signs of the Zodiac, it can be quite difficult to read a Scorpio man’s moods. He simply isn’t one to let his feelings show in an open, spontaneous way. Rather, he keeps himself carefully controlled and shows only what he wants to show — except, that is, when something churns him up. Scorpios can be quite jealous and possessive, and when feeling threatened or betrayed, they tend to react by lashing out with that Scorpion’s tail.
For anyone close to a Scorpio man, predicting his mood depends on reading circumstances and situations carefully. If he is experiencing tension in some area of his life, for example, you can predict that he may seem far calmer on the outside than he is really feeling inside — and if he lashes out against you, take it as a sign not that he’s angry, but that he is feeling extremely unhappy and insecure.
Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 20th)
As long as a Sagittarius man feels expansive and free, you can expect him to be in a happy, easygoing mood. Sagittarius is a lighthearted, optimistic sign by nature, and these qualities tend to come out in the Archer’s consistently good moods. But when he feels unfairly limited or caged in, his mood can change. When that happens, rather than turning angry or gloomy, the Sagittarius male might just run away. He doesn’t enjoy negative feelings, after all; he prefers to be cheerful and positive.
Thus, rather than dealing with tension or upsetting confrontations head-on, he may simply avoid them altogether. Generally speaking, predicting a Sagittarius male’s mood is easy — for the most part, you can expect his mood to be cheerful. If he suddenly seems distant, however, it may be that he is feeling hurt, angry, or simply too confined.
Capricorn (December 21st - January 18th)
While Capricorn men often come across as strong, dependable and stable, they may not often seem very lighthearted or happy. Even when he’s in a perfectly good mood, Capricorn is still quite grounded and sober in his demeanor. Capricorns may also seem preoccupied, since they tend to have a lot on their minds and their plates. When a Capricorn man is short-tempered, take it as a sign that he is feeling the weight of his responsibilities even more than usual — and that he’s due for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
Of course, it’s difficult to convince a Capricorn to take a break, especially when he’s working extra hard to take care of everything he believes is his duty to accomplish, but that’s exactly when he needs downtime the most. Thus, predicting a Capricorn’s mood depends on not expecting him to be overly upbeat or carefree, and anticipating that when he is working on a tight deadline or managing several responsibilities at once, he may seem distant or pensive at best.
Aquarius (January 19th - February 17th)
Predicting the mood of an Aquarius male is either easy or difficult, depending on perspective: Since Aquarians tend to be rather emotionally aloof, they often seem to be in a calm, friendly, even detached mood — but that can be a cover for the feelings they are trying to hide beneath the surface. It is important to keep in mind that the Water Bearer does have a stubborn streak, and he can become rather irritable when he feels his independence is threatened.
Those close to him, then, can anticipate that he will be his usual charming, fascinating self as long as he isn’t feeling pressured by what he perceives as an overly emotional person or situation. But when tricky feelings come into play, such as during a disagreement with a friend or family member, one can predict that the cool Aquarian demeanor could become unexpectedly ruffled.
Pisces (February 18th - March 19th)
The mood of a Pisces male often depends on the feelings and moods of the people around him. Highly intuitive Pisces is something of an emotional sponge: He taps into others’ emotions and empathizes with them so closely that he often ends up absorbing them into his own heart and consciousness. Thus, when he is in the company of friends who are happy and carefree, his own mood tends to lighten, but when he picks up on someone’s anxiety or sadness, he will quickly begin to feel — and display — these heavier emotions, himself.
Generally speaking, however, a Pisces man tends to move through his days in a dreamy, harmonious mood. His high levels of compassion and intuition make him more open than most to listening wholeheartedly to others’ struggles, which is why his own mood can shift from lighthearted to worried, fearful or unhappy. Thus, predicting his mood depends on reading the other people around him to determine what effect their demeanors will have on his.
