As we all learned from Parks and Recreation’s Tom and Donna, it’s extremely important to “treat yo' self.” Whether it’s once a week, once a month, or even once a day, treating yourself is how we get through life, even those of us who aren’t entirely materialistic.
But while treating ourselves here and there is something we’re all guilty of, there are a handful of spoiled zodiac signs who take "treat yo' self" to a whole new level. In fact, it transcends just “treating” and is full-on spoiling! Not even a horoscope telling them to tone it down can change things.
Here are the six zodiac signs who have zero qualms about spoiling themselves rotten.
1. LIBRA (September 23 to October 22)
When it comes to spoiling, Libra has it in the bag. Libra’s need for the finer the things in life is such an intricate part of who they are that it doesn’t even feel like spoiling to them anymore — the fact that they fly first class, stay in five star hotels, and walk around in designer shoes is just life.
But while there are some Libra who can comfortably afford these things, even the Libras out there who don’t mind maxing out their credit cards to achieve this lifestyle. It’s not so much a sense of entitlement as it is simply their life, and they can't see it any other way.
2. AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
On one hand, Aquarius is the hippie of the Zodiac who doesn't really need anything. On the other hand, Aquarius' capriciousness has them spoiling themselves left, right, and center. While Aquarius isn’t likely to max out a whole slew of credit cards like Libra, they don’t shy away from indulging in whatever they want — whether that be an extra piece of cake, a fling on the side of their serious relationship, or pricey and, of course, impressive pieces of art.
For Aquarius, as much as they love to spoil themselves, what they enjoy more is if they can show off the result of all that spoiling. Why am I glowing? Because I spoiled myself with my hot piece on the side all afternoon!
3. GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
Although Libra may spoil themselves because it’s just how they live and Aquarius is trying to impress anyone and everyone, with Gemini it comes down to filling that superficial aspect of their life. Gemini may be deep in some ways, but they’re also very shallow and superficial.
It’s this surface-type nature that has them spoiling themselves because they feel they deserve it more than others do. Which, of course, they don’t, but don’t bother trying to explain that to a Gemini. In addition to being superficial, Gemini prefers not to listen to others, too.
4. LEO (July 23 – August 22)
Of all the zodiac signs, the most arrogant is Leo. Like a male peacock puffing itself up before it takes a stroll around the female peacocks, Leo’s need to spoil themselves is steeped purely in bravado. Hence the reason why they like to invest in absurd things like samurai swords and the like.
Seriously, Leo, who needs an effing samurai sword besides a samurai? It’s all about creating an image that coincides with the image they have of themselves in their head, and there’s no amount of spoiling that won't be committed to keep that image in place.
5. TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus tends to spoil themselves is on their looks. There’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to their appearance and it’s quite obvious when they tell you how they just “had to" get a new hair color — "I was bored" — or get veneers — "My teeth weren't white enough" — or buy a Balenciaga bag — "It was on sale for only $1200."
See where I’m going with this? Taurus’ vanity will eventually put them on the fast track to bankruptcy if they down rein in that spending.
6. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Although Sagittarius doesn't spoil themselves to quite the degree of the other signs on the list, they still find themselves in the top six... and Sagittarius knows exactly where their weakness is when it comes to spoiling themselves, don’t you, Sagittarius? While Sagittarius isn’t going to burn money as easily as Taurus or Gemini, and certainly not as close as Libra, Sagittarius tends to spoil themselves in spurts.
What this means is that they can go weeks, even months, without treating themselves at all, then one day, like a switch has been flipped, they go buck wild and have one hell of an afternoon of indulgences. It’s the little reckless voice in their head who whispers in their ear that they should basically shop until they drop. So they do. Then they're back on the wagon again.
