John Christopher Ludwick reportedly knew the woman.

The man who claimed he had helped Natalee Holloway's killer dispose of her body was stabbed to death during an attempted kidnapping in Florida.

According to the North Port Police Department, 32-year-old John Christopher Ludwick tried to abduct a young female while she was getting out of her car in her driveway. The woman — who had not yet been identified — stabbed him during the struggle and he fled the scene on foot.

Ludwick was found injured and transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

North Port police spokesperson Joshua Taylor told CBS said that he knew the woman he was trying to kidnap and that he had once been her roommate.

Ludwick wanted to pursue a romantic relationship, but she turned him down.

“He essentially ambushed her getting out of her car, going into her home,” Taylor said.

Back in September of last year during the Oxygen series The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, Ludwick said he was a friend of Joran Van der Sloot — the prime suspect in the teen's disappearance who has never been charged due to lack of evidence.

According to Ludwick, he and Van der Sloot burned Holloway's skull in a cave in Aruba in 2010. The 18-year-old went missing in 2005 while on a graduation trip with friends.

Ludwick also said that Van der Sloot paid him $1,500 to dig up Holloway's body. They allegedly discussed cremating the remains and crushing up her bones of they wouldn't be recognized as human.

"The only thing that got burned was the skull to burn the hair fibers,” Ludwick claimed. “It was doused in gasoline in a fire pit in a cave.”

Her remains have still not been found, and Van der Sloot is currently serving time in Peru for murdering 21-year-old Stephany Flores five years to the day of Holloway's disappearance.

Florida police said the woman who stabbed Ludwick is not expected to face any charges.

“From every ounce of evidence we have so far, she was a victim in this case,” Taylor said. “We have nothing to say otherwise right now.”
