Times have definitely changed. It is no longer assumed that women will be staying at home to make care of the house and raise the kids.
Women are permanent participants in the work place (and have been for a LONG time), and if I do say so myself, we’re KILLING it.
Even though women are now holding higher positions in companies people thought we'd never work with, people STILL continue to try to keep us down.
Men are still earning more than women for working the same jobs, and there's still plenty of sexism in and around the job. Sometimes it's tough being a woman — especially in the workplace.
Thankfully there are plenty of people fighting these small-minded ideas every day.
Recently, actress Emma Stone opened up about male co-stars taking pay cuts so that she could have equal pay.
While some may point out that payment in Hollywood varies depending on the size of the star and their past successes, it's important to point out that Emma Stone has the SAME number of academy Awards as the incredibly successful (for DECADES) Leonardo DiCaprio.
So it's encouraging to finally see her male co-stars acknowledging her talent and the fact that she should be paid equally to them.
While not all of us will be fighting this battle on such a public platform, many of us continue to fight our own battles to prove that we belong in the workplace just as much as men.
So for all the office workers, CEOs, small business owners and dreamers — these inspiring quotes are for the strong women that make up all of these positions. They are meant to bring confidence to the badass women who work day in and day out, consistently making this business world better and better.
Don't give up the fight ladies! You got this in the bag.
